Immortality (Do Not Stand By My Grave and Weep)

"Do not stand
By my grave, and weep,
I am not there,
I do not sleep--

I am the thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints in snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle, autumn rain.
As you awake with morning's hush,
I am the swift, up-flinging rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the day transcending night.

Do not stand
By my grave, and cry--
I am not there,
I did not die."

Trump's Human Binkies

Contemplating the Future.

My wife and I were married in our 40s, are child-free, in our 60s. If Trump wins in 2024, we will be able to, "pass" in public. This thought process of self-preservation is depressing.

Does anyone else feel this way?

"FIGHT BACK, TAKE THE STAND!"

I would love to see a group of people chanting that as Trump enters and leaves the courthouse.

Another Pleasant Valley Sunday - Carole King/Gerry Goffin

"The local rock group down the street
Is trying hard to learn this song
They serenade the weekend squire
Who just came out to mow his lawn

Another Pleasant Valley Sunday (Sunday)
Charcoal burning everywhere
Rows of houses that are all the same
And no one seems to care

See Mrs. Gray she's proud today
Because her roses are in bloom
And Mr. Green he's so serene
He's got a TV in every room

Another Pleasant Valley Sunday (Sunday)
Here in status symbol land
Mothers complain about how hard life is
And the kids just don't understand

Creature comfort goals
They only numb my soul
And make it hard for me to see
My thoughts all seem to stray
To places far away
I need a change of scenery"

Shogun Poems

"if I could use words
like scattering flowers and falling leaves
what a bonfire my poems would make"
