Just got a confirmation: I've been elected to the King's County (Brooklyn) Democratic Committee

Petitions approved and no Primary opponent. I’m part of a reform slate that will be taking on the County Committee leadership (which has been trying to know a lot of Committee and District Leader candidate. Should be fun.

I'm also a candidate for my county Dem committee, and apparently running unopposed (I'm in the red side of the county). Primary is in early August here.

They’re particularly problematic in their endorsement and nomination of judicial candidates, who end up doing “favors” for the Cimmittee leadership.

It's going to be a tough 6 months.

Being a County Committee member gives you a direct touch with the voters. Get a cell phone specifically for constituent services.

Trust me - just do it. And a personal card with your title/role. King County is huge in comparison to Hunterdon - but I still field at least 20 Calls a week around primaries and GE's.

Also - don't forget to have fun. Democrats Get Things Done!

Curious about your experience on the Committee. I know they've had internal struggles regarding mission/focus. Hoping for a better future.

So was my building’s Super and my dentist’s nephew (he’s graduating from high school next month, the family is so proud).
When is your swearing in ceremony? Do you get your own office or do you have to share with the other 3,600 members of the King County County Committee members?
