Near the end of Quentin Tarantino's 2019 film "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," actor Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his best friend, stuntman Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) get drunk together at a Mexican restaurant, and decide to return to Dalton's Benedict Canyon house on Cielo Drive (next door to Sharon Tate) via taxi, since they were both too drunk to drive.
How much was the fare for the taxi? (answered)

(7,553 posts)for a racing competition, headed for Salinas. At the intersection of CA 41 and 46 near the tiny crossroads of Cholame is where the crash occurred. They intended to tow his car, but his Porsche was new. It needed some breaking in, so he and his mechanic drove together. The mechanic survived.
Brother Buzz
(36,542 posts)And never mind most of the film was mostly shot on location in Mendocino County.
And never mind you don't break in a racing machine with the pedal to the metal; I suspect the rebellious Dean refused to heed his mechanic's advice.
VGNonly
(7,553 posts)for speeding before the crash. Then when leaving, he took off in a high rate of speed. The Porsche was silver and low slung, in the late afternoon sun. His number was 130.
Too fast to live, too young to die.

(7,916 posts)The narrator (Kurt Russel) never told me what the fare was for the taxi. The narrator only commented on about what time the taxi pulled up in front of Rick's house to drop off Rick and Cliff.
There's an exchange between the taxi driver and Rick but the only thing that's audible for me is Rick saying, "Gracious, amigo."

(7,916 posts)I'm wondering if there are different cuts of the film available to watch. Like maybe there's a director's cut or an extended cut.
I was hoping to answer your trivia question but apparently it isn't going to happen for me, Red Dog.

It might take me awhile though.

(2,925 posts)I love Lugosi and the old classic horror films, and I remember thinking that I was unfamiliar with that movie. But I remember his name being prominently displayed.
My attention is always drawn to certain details in film scenes, like what is showing on a theater's marquis, or what pinball machine is shown, or my personal holy grail, what chess position is being played on glimpsed board.
Bela made so many low-budget horror films in the 50s, it was one of those "lesser" films showing in The Blob.
Harker
(14,213 posts)There was a title displayed - that of a film that did not have Lugosi in it, and underneath the title it said, AND BELA LUGOSI.
I'll hold off for a bit and see if anyone gets the title.

Giddy Up is a corker, too.
The only time I ever got on a horse was when I was four. The guy who was supposed to walk the horse around the ring of split rail fencing stopped to light a cigarette, and the horse bolted.
I held on out of sheer fright until I was knocked off by a fencepost. I spent my first night in a hospital after that, angering the nurse by pressing the call button for ginger ale.
It was all worthwhile when I heard a witness recount that I "hung on like a little buckaroo."
I'm so sorry that you had that terrible experience with a frightened horse.
I use to watch The Bozo Show too.
Hopefully that nurse found a job somewhere else. How awful to be angry at a child wanting a ginger ale.
I'm certainly glad to hear that you "hung on like a little buckaroo."
