Same thing happened with Bush Jr. People rated him highly on "strong and decisive," because he acted like a cowboy even though it seemed clear he was being manipulated by neocons.

(101,999 posts)If it really is fifteen we will win back the House and Senate, despite gerrymandering. We will also win a bunch of seats in state legislatures.

DemocratSinceBirth
(101,999 posts)From December 13 - 18, Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,230 voters nationwide with a margin of error of +/- 3.3 percentage points, including the design effect. Live interviewers call landlines and cell phones.

(2,003 posts)A poll that simply states "Democrats 52% Deplorables 37" tells us nothing, particularly since so many Democrats are concentrated in densely packed urban areas which fewer representatives.

(3,608 posts)it's a friggin popularity contest...just like high school. Someone 'attractive' would not be a bad thing either...I think people are programmed to 'like' the attractive face. Kamala Harris would fit that one. Think about it, people want Michelle Obama to run, she won't so how bout Kamala? I
Kinda like that Rep from CT...he's a little cutie now isn't he and well spoken and smart. I say VP for him.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
