Be on red alert, patriots. Mark Warner is afraid Trump will fire Rosenstein/Mueller this weekend.

...after congress has gone home.

He stood in the floor of the Senate today to sound the warning.

Mark Warner is the ranking member of the Senate committee that is looking at Trump/Russia. He knows what is going on.

His speech on the floor of the Senate today has me worried. He knows something.

Be ready to march, patriots.

It will hit the 24 hour news cycle - congresscritturs will be making the appropriate desultory noises. There will be the usual street protests, carried for a few minutes on national TV and, on Fox "News" the usual "LW crazy" making incendiary statements. Then Congress will study the situation and reluctantly conclude that, although the President's decision to act in that fashion was truly regrettable there is nothing that Congress can do since it was, after all, perfectly legal. And then the 24 hour news cycle will become bored with the topic and move on to the next "Squirrel!!" and we will be left with a handful of Fitzmas II.

It's Christmas. Immediate protests create momentum while delayed outrage lessens the impact. Due to the holiday there will be distraction and mobilization delayed. Given the lack of attention span in this country for more than 5 minutes, I am afraid that this act will slide by and by the time any protest is begun too many people will have moved on to contribute.

I hope to hell I am wrong but it's winter, it's Christmas/new years and Congress will be be out of session.

I can't think of a more important issue to get people mad as hell and off their asses in front of a television and taking to the streets to take back their country from a bunch of pussies in Congress who told all of us average Joes and JoAnns, what they really thought of us when they signed that tax bill today. I can't think of a more appropriate response than taking to the streets even if it means it's on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

No matter what anybody thinks might happen. No matter what we want to happen.

THE ONLY STOP-GAP, FAIL-SAFE IF YOU WILL, THAT KEEPS DONALD TRUMP FROM FIRING MUELLER IS THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS.

That's it.

Both houses with REPUBLICAN majorities.

Please don't tell me he can't personally fire Mueller. I get it. I do. That is but a trifle. A mere trifle. So let's not waste time arguing that point.

The ONLY thing that safe-guards Mueller is the chance of Impeachment.

That's it.

You may have faith in a Republican controlled Congress to Impeach Donald Trump. I do not.

that Mueller's team and Trump's lawyers would be meeting Thursday or Friday. I would expect if Mueller thinks Trump is in a 'guillotine' mood, he might drop the blade first, thereby deflating any ego flight the Trumpster may be enjoying. Perhaps mentioning his son and son-in-law as the next indictments on the roster. Or someone else brought on charges, someone who would rock Trump's sense of invincibility.

I'd be surprised if even The Donald was reckless enough to go after Mueller directly. The more logical approach (I know using the term in relation to Trump seems silly) but nevertheless, the more logical, less risky approach would be going after Rod Rosenstein and demand that he fire Mueller. Rosenstein declines, then the next up declines, etc., etc., and we're into Saturday Night Massacre territory.

He may believe that the Christmas holiday is perfect for these shenanigans because citizens will be distracted with holiday preparations.

If so,, he has a rude awakening coming his way.

People keep overlooking that there is absolutely no just cause to justify either Rosenstein or the prez's firing Mueller, not even an attempt, and so it's not going to happen. Because it will be another count against them on the FBI's current obstruction of justice list.

I'm not saying he's right but given MSM's hair-on-fire insistence every other day that Trump's gonna fire Mueller maybe tomorrow as a way of selling interest to keep the $$$ rolling in, the Dems are being forced to respond and play the game to minimize being manipulated by the press.

…the tax bill for his own personal wealth. He would never not sign it. He might love to hang it over their heads, but he needs it too much per$onally. It's the stone that kills about ten birds.

Important speech by @MarkWarner. The coordinated attacks on Robert Mueller are an effort to undermine the rule of law & our system of justice. The unhinged attacks on Mr. Mueller & our law enforcement have been shameful. We must reject them.

He blasted Republicans who are promoting firing Mueller, and warns Trump against firing him, but doesn't mention this weekend or any other time frame:

54. Tonight or tomorrow, Mueller will be meeting with Trump and his legal team
Wed Dec 20, 2017, 09:00 PM
Dec 2017

He will echo the message of Senator Warner.

He will set out the course of events that will proceed the moment Trump attempts to fire Mueller via Rosenstein or anyone else.

He will paint a cold, dire picture for Mr. Trump. The case has already been made. The remainder of the investigation would simply add to the sum total of indictments awaiting Trump and his family, and a host of other Trump aides. He will detail all the land mines that he and his team have left behind, triggered to go off the moment Trump tries to bring him down.

State level charges lurk maliciously in the background.

Plain and simple, "we have you, Mr. Trump. We have you six ways from Sunday".

Trump may not understand the meaning of "constitutional crisis", but he'll have a load in his expansive golf slacks when Mr. Mueller leaves the premises.

My money is on Trump cocooning for a couple weeks, laying in the fetal position in a dark linen closet somewhere in Florida.

76. Maybe not...
Thu Dec 21, 2017, 12:29 AM

Mueller may have given that 'end of 2018' timeline to use as as a negotiating "carrot", as in "you give me (insert suspect name here), I'll clear you by (insert date) or I'll end the investigation if you (insert condition here, like roll over on Pence, testify about Trump's direct roll in ordering the election theft).

Just a wild speculation by me, of course. What benefit to Mueller could there possibly be for letting Trump know he needs another year to investigate? That would be like showing your whole hand to your adversary. Mueller's too smart for that.

A "Ruby Red" line.

I heard that as a warning. If blatant moves are made to shut down the investigation, the truth of Trump's deep and traitorous involvement with Russia would be made public. Perhaps I'm just hearing what I want to hear.

Fox News running interference 24/7 has already destroyed Mueller's credibility with the tRump base. He doesn't need to fire him, just discredit enough to keep his core support.

74. Be alert but remain calm...

Remember that Mueller has several sealed indictments ready to go. I also interpret Mueller's response to the 50,000 email uproar last Saturday as "firing a warning shot across the bow" when he justified obtaining those emails from the GSA as legally necessary as evidence in CRIMINAL investigations.

During the time it will take to complete the firing of both Mueller and Rosenstein, Mueller will unseal those indictments and indict the whole cabal. To me, Mueller would never continue on without a "kill switch". Fast and furious. The whole lot of them will never see it coming. They won't know what hit 'um.

If you wish to have a more informed explanation, follow the Twitter feed of @renato_mariotti, a former federal prosecutor who is running for AG in the state of Illinois. Whenever my nerves get stretched to the limit with high anxiety, he is one of the dozen or so experts I run to to calm my soul.

Mueller has factored all of this in. He's a brilliant strategist. I continue to put my faith in Mueller. I'm confident he's got every angle covered.

People who aren't 23 and single/childless will have trouble showing up in large numbers on Christmas Eve. They'll show up, but there will need to be leadership that will make it possible for more than the standard crop of protesters to participate.

Section 4 of the Twenty-Fifth Amendment allows the Vice President and a majority of cabinet members to declare a President unfit to serve.

No, Mike Pence and the other gangsters wouldn't willingly do this... unless their balls are also on the chopping block and the Special Investigator offers them a deal. I've seen a lot of circumstantial evidence that suggests that at least some of those people were involved.

If they do declare unfitness, some amusing things happen. The usurpers have to send a letter to Congress, saying Trump is unfit. You can bet on Trump instantly responding with a letter of his own, saying he is fit, which instantly restores him. When that happens, Congress has to reconvene within 48 hours and decide the issue within three weeks.

So if Trump pulls the trigger on Mueller tomorrow, Mueller can try to force a declaration of unfitness that same day. Trump will have his letter of protest in by Saturday, and then Congress must, by law, reconvene in Washington ON CHRISTMAS FUCKING DAY.

I've never forgiven the Republicans for fucking up my Christmas by shutting down the government back in '95. So this would be the sweetest, sweetest vengeance for me. Not gonna happen but we're sure to see some sort of FUBAR Constitutional maneuvering any week now.
