the one goner stole a bunch of money from my elderly parents to fuel his addiction. even though he is my brother he is dead to me

(4,492 posts)My late grandmother was put on Fentanyl after recovering from surgery. My mom argued with the nursing home to decrease her dose (and used Prince's death as a talking point) but to no avail.
Prior to her moving into a nursing home, she had a home health aid. Her meds were always going missing and there's reason to believe that they were stolen (home health aids make minimum wage--- not a fair salary for the work they do).

(4,633 posts)but I had a family member OD and live. Their pain specialist dropped them afterwards and instead of turning to hard street drugs, they are now controlling their pain with MJ and more recently, Kratom.
