20. The KGOP effort to discredit the FBI backfires brilliantly!

1) the DOJ gets to let the cat out of the bag about tRump's loyalty pledge.
2) the credibility of law enforcement over that of witnesses is almost always taken.

Just think about any instance where you were up against the word of a law enforcement officer: highway patrol, police, etc. When it comes to your word against theirs, the judge will often cite that the officer IS THE LAW.

On this, tRump is fucked and the GOP witch-hunt just made that public.

due to what might now be considered "corroborating testimony" (in favor of Comey) if he fires Mueller.

He doesn't have the authority. Only Rosenstein can fire Mueller. Trump can order Rosenstein to fire Mueller, and can fire him if he refuses, ala the Saturday Night Massacre.

By announcing to the public that Rosenstein corroborates Comey's testimony, it would make the act of firing him that much stronger a case for obstruction. It would make Trump's position that much worse. Of course, that's never stopped him before, but I believe the intent of the announcement is to reduce the chances of Trump going scorched earth on everyone.

For a few years, I bar tended at a place that was *the* hangout for cops and DAs. Every Friday night a couple of the detectives would DJ (place was owned by a retired cop) and the crowd would enjoy our very small (like maybe 20ft sq) dance floor. On the days that a case finally went to trial and the bad guys were done, they would ALWAYS play, "I Fought the Law" to rousing sing-a-longs!
