A Christmas miracle happened at tonights family party

Last edited Mon Dec 25, 2017, 02:32 AM - Edit history (1)

For the first time in in recent memory, Trump-loving conspiracy-theory-sharing Republican cousin-in-law had NOTHING to say about politics tonight. Either my cousin got to him or he’s actually ashamed of his pArty. Either way, it was a great night.

how can they defend lie, after lie, after lie from this despicable administration. Michael Stelle and Steve Schmidt come to mind...they are very disturbed as to what their party has become. I cannot wait to see what shoes drop as the new year approaches.

They are looking forward to the day when we live under mandatory conservative rule and liberalism is outlawed.

The dictatorship of Kris Kobach will make them very happy.

Perhaps little by little we'll get there.

At least some are silent now and not promoting drumpfski and komrades. My neighbor has also been quiet more recently.

They may be mulling things over. And not mulled cider!

Have a happy!

Peace be unto you,

here look mild-mannered. My Republican brother didn't vote and is pretty disgusted with Trump. Will be interested to see what my sister-in-law and her husband who voted for Trump but Obama before that have to say about Trump when they come to visit us. She is a bible-beater and said she voted for Trump because was an "evangelical."

We have forbidden political talk in the age of Trump. We didn't talk about it much before but I think the 3-4 Trump voters freaked out their siblings etc.

So, tonight, Trump voter starts in saying how when he sees protesters he thinks they should get a job. I sort of go in, they could be on their day off. He works construction so he doesn't get paid time off so they must all be employed bums. I tell him I protested plenty and I'm not a lib-tard (yes, I escalated a bit) and my son joins us. NO ONE comes to Trump supporter's defense. We argue a bit and I walk away, its not my house and I don't want to spoil my nieces's party. My son keeps on him saying "we are all in the together, at least we can stop calling others names" etc. Trump supporter comes to the door a few minutes later where I am. I say "what, you Trump supporters just can't take it can you" and he says "you think I'm a big Trump supporter but I've lost all faith. He's a sleaze."

Of course, then he went into a rant about Trump saying he was a pussy grabber and how awful that is, I wanted to scream that happened before you voted for him, but I was trying to defuse and just left the group again.

So, some progress, and ammunition to use next time. And I gave him 3 books that might help open his mind telling him he better read them or he gets coal next year.

Women's March was when some protestors were walking past a hotel and some well-heeled woman getting into a car popped off, "These people should get a job." One of the women passing her said, "It's Saturday, bitch."

..who now faces uncertainly about her ongoing medical bills due to a recent organ transplant that cost her next to nothing (Thank you Obamacare!). Only outburst was a comment by me when the talk turned to the stupid ppl on Jerry Springer...food fighting on stage....accusing each other of 'wanting their man'...'whos my baby daddy for my 10 kids?'...at the end of the discussion I muttered..'and those people vote!"...

I'm about to head off to a dinner that includes by right, right, right, right-wing aunt, who is one of the crabbiest people on the planet.

I learned long ago the rule to follow at my family dinners: Sit down and shut up. We'll tell you what to think.

Funny that many of my in-laws are wealthy, hard right tools who are either born-agains or good Catholics who never miss Sunday mass. We battled at family gathering during the Bush years, or as I called them “The Bush Wars”. During 8 years of Obama they argued, “ what has Obama done?” While their stock portfolios tripled. I dismissed them as racists. With Trump I won’t waste my breathe arguing with them. If they say “Trump is the greatest president ever”, I will nod in agreement. I am loathe to go to dinner with these Trumpanzees but my father is 83 and he asked me and my wife and 4 kids personally to go, so I will. But why even try to convince these imbeciles that Trump is seriously damaging the country. I’m just gonna enjoy the food and hope I don’t end up smashing a fist into a brother-in-laws’ face or taking a bat to one of his $225,000 Ferrari’s he just bought.

(just with personal business that she needs help with and I'm in-between jobs). I'm back home in California for the holidays and will go back to Dallas at the end of the month. Anyway, my friend is very Liberal but some of her friends are right-wingers. One of them came up to Dallas for a couple of days a few weeks ago. She told my friend that she's COMPLETELY quit watching her shows (Fox - 24/7) and isn't involving herself in anything "political." I don't necessarily think we'll have a lot of "them" come over to our side but a significant number may just stay out of the process and not vote. That's my hope anyway...
