This is Louise Mensch who has been known to use questionable sources. She did a piece about the Trump modeling agency which turned out to be completely bogus.

I decided not to waste my time. She is right about 1/3 of the time, unverified another 1/3, and the other third is just made-up bullshit to get attention.

That her source posed as an inside source and made up the whole story . I don’t recall what the motive was, but the MSM made a big deal about it.

They have always said they have different sources, and Louise wasn't part of that story.

But I understand why you are confused because much of the news media reported it as if it had been her story, and not just his.

She didn't "endorse" his story, despite what it says. She did retweet it -- but unlike other stories, she did not say that her separate sources had confirmed it. Retweeting something isn't the same as confirming it. Even at the time I noticed she hadn't done that.

After initially saying she endorsed the story, the article you posted finally acknowledged her response:

"Mensch denied using the bogus information and said her allegations about Trump’s model agency came from her own sources. Asked why she had retweeted Taylor’s false posts, Mensch said: “I don’t think anybody can vet anybody else’s sources.”

Months earlier, she had posted her own story about the modeling agency, based on her own (non-American) sources. The hoaxer used Mensch's as the basis for the calls to Taylor. So Taylor was fooled into believing a story that he thought confirmed Mensch's.

We know from the Daily Beast stories that DT was providing models, including underage models, for men at the parties he held. Mensch's story about the agency are quite plausible in that light.

I was kind of hoping Mensch's story was true so there would be one more line item on tRumps arrest warrant
