Pence’s vacation neighbors post ‘make America gay again’ sign

Residents living near the Colorado home where Vice President Mike Pence and his family are staying for the holidays have posted a rainbow “Make America Gay Again” banner.

Neighbors in Aspen, Colorado, placed the banner on a pillar that sits at the end of both homes’ driveways, The Aspen Times reported.

One person staying in the home told The Times that the banner was hung by the daughters of the couple that lives there and their girlfriends.

Pitkin County Sheriff Joe DiSalvo told The Times that a deputy from his office was there when a man came out and hung the banner.

"He was real sheepish and thought he might be confronted by the Secret Service or deputies who'd tell him he couldn't do it," DiSalvo said.

"When they said, 'We're not here to control your free speech rights,' they came out with chili and began feeding them," he said of the couple.

Pence is well-known for his conservative views on homosexuality. He supported a 2006 amendment that would have defined marriage as being between a man and a woman. He also said at the time that legalizing same-sex marriage would create a “societal collapse.”

President Trump also reportedly said that Pence wants to “hang all gay people,” according to a New Yorker report.

Pence and his family have become targets of LGBTQ protests since their move to D.C. Protestors held a “queer dance party” outside his former residence there in January.

But I think it works to HELP conservatives (in case the people mistakenly think it helps liberals).

it has to do with the outward appearance of the neighborhood.I would detest a big MAGA hat also.

I wouldn't want anything as garish as that making a political statement,or any other type of statement,smack dab in the middle of the neighborhood.

6. A simple plain rainbow flag (or perhaps one with 'Happy Holidays' on it) would've been awesome ...

Or maybe 'Let America Love Again' (if you just HAVE to skewer the MAGA thing) would've been cool.

Those would've accomplished the desired goal of annoying Pence w/o annoying a ton of other people (that would not otherwise have been annoyed).

That message however is dumb, on so many levels.
