Trepidation. In a legal state, I have to do a drug test mouth swab.

Does anyone have information on having to do a drug test with a swab of the mouth?

I have read that a person is good 24-72 hours after last intake of pot. I have also heard that it takes up to a week.

Then again, there have been some that said they had surprise tests after they had smoked under 24 hours and passed the test.

Does anyone have experience taking a drug test relating to pot?

Thank you for any information or personal experiences.

1. (This is not legal advice) I'd try telling the test giver that you use non-thc cbd oil.

Take an almost empty cbd oil container and hope that this is enough to dissuade the employer from wanting to pay for a more expensive test that will only test for the metabolized THC (which is only minutely in some CBD oils) but is in weed and will cause you to fail the test.

I don't recommend the synthetic urines that you squeeze into the testers bottles although they've worked for some people I know.

Once again, this is not legal advice.

8. I think it sounds easy, too. I will have a strong 72 hours and that seems like it is enough.

I wanted to hear assurances from others so I did not have to go to extremes.

Most seem to suggest it does not take long for it to leave the saliva. I do not want to do a lot of unusual to my mouth other then regular hygiene if I do not need to. I am thinking I will be fine.

4. Yeah, I do. An old friend needed to take a urine drug test

and he bought some stuff at a local head shop that you drink, or put into your urine sample (it was long ago and I forget the specifics). It was expensive and he had to do it twice since he missed his "window/time frame". He passed the test. This was about 20 years ago so I am sure there is newer, better, cheaper stuff out there now. Did you try to Google it?

7. Urine test is tough because pot can be found a long time after use, especially if heavy smoker.

What constitutes a heavy smoker? Anyway, luckily I do not have to do a urine test, just a saliva test with a swab in the mouth. Supposedly that is a lot easier to pass.

I have never had to do a drug test. First time.

9. I read that a lot of employers can't find any legal workers

that pass the drug tests so they have to use illegal immigrant labor. It's just the opposite of how reality is perceived by the GOP and the moron. "Those Mexican rapists and drug fiends".

10. It has got to be getting tough in legal states. They do it because of federal law.

The company has to cover themselves because federally it is still illegal. Maybe more are going to the swab, which is easiest to pass for a pot smoker and what they are looking to use for driving/accident while on pot. It is interesting.

The urine test is ridiculous. Two weeks to a month to get a good test. Where as, all the other harsher drugs are out of the system quickly.

11. Just be cautious -

Lying on an employment application generally provides sufficient cause to terminate your employment contract (even if the question wasn't relevant, even if they would have given you the job anyway).

Affirmatively altering your body chemistry to cheat a drug test, or lying about the source of the drug (if found in the test) would be treated as lying.

(If you are an at will employee, there is little added risk - since you can be terminated for eye color, because it is Tuesday, or any other reason other than membership in a protected class.)
