White supremacists took over a city now NC is doing more to remember the deadly attack

Good article from the Charlotte Observer about an event I wasn't aware of, even though I grew up in North Carolina.

The North Carolina government is officially recognizing what historians call the only successful coup d’etat in American history, when white supremacists overthrew the Reconstruction-era government in Wilmington in 1898.

The state’s Highway Historical Marker Committee has approved a new plaque to be installed in Wilmington in 2018 near a busy intersection, which will tell people about the racist attack that left dozens dead and heralded the start of the Jim Crow era here.

incidents known and unknown like this in the cultural history of ameriKKKa. And now we have just about come full circle from those times. I hope SPLC, NAACP, is keeping watch on the number of hate incidents aimed precisely at African-Americans. Charlottsville 2017 has shown that it has started, the white supremacist push back against all inclusiveness of all races and culture of american society. Their leader sits on a golden throne at 1600 and he ain't no president of all people.

He seems to be openly anti-women's rights, anti-any person of any color other than white, anti-gay and
I'm sure I am forgetting many of his other anti(s) which he certainly has plenty.

His elfin self is just a racist; plain and simple. No secret about it. For the record--I don't have anything against elves in general, I just hate Mr. Sessions and his elfin-self. I can't help but say "elfin" when referring to him because--Keebler. Just look at him and try not to think of Keebler. Their cookies are fine, I guess, but can't really think of one that I particularly like.

Beginning with Trump himself, emboldens the racists. Trump's refusal to condemn the racists in Charlottesville simply confirmed what his campaign implied -- Trump's on the side of the Klan.

Is that now we know who they are and we can identify them so this doesn't happen again.

The right is itching for an excuse to use their guns. This is why I support groups like Antifa. In addition to being the only ones who actually show up and confront garbage like this when it does happen, their constant doxxing, unmasking, and harassment of white power assholes keeps them in the dark and helps prevent them from attaining the critical mass needed for them to accomplish things like this from happening in the first place.
