(5,771 posts)I was living in Los Angeles, and was in a youth band. One Christmas season, we were performing in a parade in Inglewood. As we marched through the streets of Inglewood, we received a more-enthusiastic reception than we were used to getting (Some of our members were really good, but overall we were only adequate). As we continued to march and play, the reception kept getting more-and-more enthusiastic, and we continued to get happier for the cheering.
When we finally got to the end of the parade, and could turn around, we found out the reason for the enthusiastic response: we were marching just in front of the parade's Grand Marshal: Muhammad Ali.
