8. agreed - if the Trump presidency completely falls apart
with him resigning or being indicted/impeached, I think Pence will be an even lamer duck than Ford. Pence will be mortally wounded by association with Trump and he does not have the Trump ability to suck up all the media attention.

2. Trump being in the position he is in for as long as he has been
reflects on the GOP. He remains in power because they want him to be in power.
The real problem is the GOP and those who control it - not nearly so much the puppet president they install to do their bidding. |

21. When this claim is made....
It is always completely void of any discussion involving what would have to happen to end up with Pence as President. As if impeachment or resignation would just be ho hum. It would be an enormous loss of clout for them. The question is posed as if Pence becomes President and nothing else happened.

25. Exactly. Pence would be a lame duck with no mandate whatsoever. Hed be an accidental president
and he’d be resisted at every turn by everyone. Yeah, Paul Ryan may try to squeeze out some more evil legislation but it would be very hard and Pence would face challenges at every turn. Pence could never get elected on his own, and people will find out very quickly how limited and extremely uncharismatic Pence really is if he’s ever in this position. He’s a horribly stiff and unnatural public speaker (forget the one debate that Pence was coached for — he’s a terrible public speaker and dull as a door nail). He’d just be holding a space until the next election.
And yes, Trump is much worse than Pence. |

5. Understood, but I don't care...
... I want this fucking, fucking, FUCKING smug little pile of orange feces GONE. I'm sick of seeing his ugly fucking face every day. Sick of having to turn off his raspy old fucking man voice whenever it comes on the TV. Sick of hearing about his latest idiotic screaming little tantrum because the orange toddler must have stayed up past his night-night time.
We can fight Pence the same way we are fighting this fucking orange shitgibbon, but I want the shitgibbon OUT so I don't have to hear about his every fucking move. And for the record, I don't worry Pence will launch a nuclear war to cover the fact he has a tiny one-inch wee-wee like the worthless shitstain currently squatting in the White House. |

I think Pence is politically worse than Trump because he really seems to believe that religious BS. And, he's more competent than Trump (a very low bar to clear!)
However, he also doesn't have that ability to fire up the base of deplorables and to also suck up all the media attention. |

For all his downside, Pence has a significant amount of governmental experience, and he appears to be retaining a hold on basic sanity. I say we give him a try, the sooner the better.

than Orange slob. How the hell was he at the head of the "transition team" but didn't know about the emails between the Russians & members of that same team and that's just a start.. DON'T WORRY. He's in SERIOUS trouble.

20. He's not senile yet, or am I wrong? He's not terrorizing the world with tweets.
Russia picked Pence for a reason, he's a Putinesque hate monger, anti-gay, die-hard conservative. That makes him another liability to Republicans, just like trump. In that sense, he is just as bad.

23. Except he'll be damaged goods, an automatic lame duck.
And if 2018 goes well, he'll have a hard time getting any of his agenda through.
I don't think he'll be impeached with Trump (Republicans will vouch for him even while they dump Trump), but there will be enough questions lingering about what he knew regarding Russia that it will haunt him in 2020, if he even runs. |

31. no one is arguing Pence will be benevolent or anything other than what he is
At the end of the day, the investigation is in place to serve justice, not our desires.
It's not in fact, simply a mechanism to attempt administration change or give advantages to the party in power, despite the GOP having used it as such for 35 years. That said, no one is arguing Pence will be benevolent or anything other than what he is... another member of the GOP. |
