I showed up at a local Barnes and Noble this morning. They'd sold out of the book before it was even on the shelves.
I need to find a way to piss off Lord Dampnut in one of my academic papers. My citation rate will skyrocket.

(58,785 posts)Hard copy. Price went up to announced retail somewhere around 9, when pre-ordering ended. But with the announced delay filling orders, I bought the Kindle version instead.
I was going to wait until the price dropped to $3 or so (fast with the high sales numbers), and just listen to others talk about it, but Trump's attempt to suppress it made me angry enough to spend some money. Probably should have donated it to the ACLU, but was enjoying reading it until I had to stop for a recharge.

(28,270 posts)You can still get it on Kindle though if you have one.
Wonder if libraries got some copies of the book?

(28,270 posts)You could check your local library as well, maybe they have a few copies?

(3,578 posts)Even with the library getting multiple copies, it'd be the better part of a year before I could get hold of a library copy.

I think the guy in NK sees this and since he is less crazy than trump, is going to talks with SK.

(44,116 posts)Weve been gaslighted so much by Fox and other right-wing media, it feels good to be told we arent crazy. Plus there are lots of things in the book even I couldnt have imagined.

I now have a 4k tv so watching the results, the inevitable results of the GOP, racists, etc., will be entertaining.
Yes, I will be a victim of it too but I get to watch first.

(146,286 posts)that it was on her Kindle. That means it's on mine, too, since my Kindle Fire is registered to her account. Now, we have to decide who reads it first. It's a PITA to have both of us reading a book at the same time. You have keep track of where you are and jump to that spot. I hate doing that. I think I'll let her read it first, since she ordered it.

(23,338 posts)Then it won't keep trying to sync the progress on both Kindles?
A theory, worth every penny.

(146,286 posts)I don't know if she put it on the device or is reading it on the cloud. I will put it on my Kindle Fire and test that. However, I am usually connected to WiFi, and Amazon will synchronize automatically to mark the current location of the last reading. However, I can disconnect my wife's old Kindle from WiFi. That might prevent the syncing from happening if it's local on her device.
I will test this.

(128,866 posts)and am almost done chapter 4 on Bannon (taking breaks on and off). My bookcases are all full and not much space to try to add another one for a hardcopy.
I also have a Kindle HD but the iPad is bigger.
