(31,209 posts)when something happened and the cable stopped and was suspended over the chasm below. I have no idea how long we were there, but I do remember getting scared when a bunch of the adults started screaming. I've had a fear of heights for most of my life. I've done a lot of work to allay this fear, but I still never walk to the edge of the cliff.

(100,975 posts)I'd be having my fatal heart attack at that point. I hate those things as much as I hate carnival rides like the Farris wheel with flimsy passenger restraints.
I know of a couple people who were trapped on a ski lift overnight on a very cold winter's night. They sued the resort and were well compensated... the resort did not check to see if the lift was empty before closing down for the night.
Obviously this is a bit different but they might have taken a little more caution with the weather. I wonder who owns/operates that resort and just how greedy are they?
