Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal Warns Trump That Russia Convictions Are Imminent

Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal Warns Trump That Russia Convictions Are Imminent

Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal warned Donald Trump on Monday not only that more indictments are likely in Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, but that he also expects convictions early in the new year.

According to Blumenthal, Mueller likely has more damning information not yet known to the public, which will lead to more criminal indictments and probable convictions of those in Trump’s inner circle.

The Democratic senator said:

At some point in the new year I think there will be more indictments, and very likely also convictions. Because Robert Mueller is doing his work methodically and meticulously and he will use every tool at his disposal. He is already in possession of knowledge that we don’t have from a public source. I have no inside information. But I would expect the evidence that he has gathered so far and as well from cooperation from Michael Flynn and George Papadopoulos who have been convicted to provide a basis for convictions and indictments going forward.

While Trump continues to blow hot air on Twitter and at news conferences about how the entire Russia investigation is a hoax, Mueller continues to work behind the scenes, thoroughly compiling evidence that makes it increasingly clear that the Russia scandal is anything but a hoax.

The fact that Michael Flynn and George Papadopoulos – who both played key, high-level roles on Trump’s team – are cooperating with the investigation makes it even more likely that Mueller has damning information on the president.

Not only is Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation far from over, but as Sen. Blumenthal said on Monday, more indictments and likely even convictions are imminent in the new year. That should have this president shaking in his boots.

Mueller has to indict Jared and Jr. and The Moron will go ballistic. I hope it is on live TV so we can all watch him get taken away in a straight jacket.

in my office. I kept hearing Trump's name and it suddenly dawned on me that his name was being mentioned so much, it sounded like a snare drum...sort of like The Little Drummer Boy. Trump, trump, trump, trump, trump, taaarump ta taarump. To make matters worse, I couldn't get The Little Drummer Boy out of my head...even after I turned off the TV.

WARNING: DON'T try it...I'm warning you.

so that I can mute him or change channels to find something that won't make me barf or have a stroke. I do the same with Fuckubee Sanders, Kelleyanne, Ryan, McConnell, Gorka, and the biggy...MILLER! One day I couldn't find my remote and was ready to yank the cord out of the wall.

Because you need trials to get convictions. Convictions may come later in the year but right now all we can expect are guilty pleas and indictments.

People who flip will plead guilty to lesser crimes (like flynn and pappadopolous) and the convictions will be at the first hearing. Pleading guilty is a conviction.

It's only those that choose to fight that will go to trial. The fact that more indictments haven't come down already likely means most are cooperating.

It is part of the process. A judge has to accept the plea and enter judgment on it. That has happened.

I edited this because I was mistaken regarding the status of the guilty plea.

It is his get out of jail free card for the collusion. He claims impairment due to dementia and his criminal intent is not beyond reasonable doubt.

He resigns to a country club of his choosing to grab the patrons by their pussies.

The money laundering before might be a different matter ....

his only option to keep him our of jail and hang on to some of his money might be to play the dementia card.

Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan are going to slit his throat anyway. They're a pair of vultures just waiting for the right moment to snatch more power. Mueller is looking to put him away for what he did to his buddy, Comey and his treason, etc.

The whole thing is unraveling at a much higher rate and degree than Watergate.

He'll fight it for a while yet - in part, because of his illness. But I cannot see him lasting three more years.

Walking out to a short visit in a mental hospital is much more palatable than walking out in cuffs to a federal prison. No doctor is going to tell him playing golf every day is bad for his mental health but a warden might have an objection.

I think we have to start getting used to President Pence (not that he is going to be dramatically better for progressives).

Being a New York boy, does this clown have some sort of Italian fixation? Does buy into the stereotype of a Mafia don and views himself as the man who can do anything, snap his fingers and the consigliere makes someone sleep with the fishes?

muehler is expected to file amended indictments against both, adding numerous charges. That will likely push trial dates out, especially if there are conspiracy charges with other admin officials.

They might break the charges up into different trials, but it will likely extend the schedules accordingly.
