Unlike PETA, NAMBLA or Scientology, the NRA can mobilize a large number of voters, many who do not like the NRA itself, but have common cause.

It has been noted that it has an impact on any election where gun issues are put to voters.

NRA doesn't advocate molesting anybody like NAMBLA (or any other felonious acts).

If I could pick anything it would be easy -- the republican party.

But of the three choices PETA seemed an easy pick to me.

NAMBLA and Scientology both promote something that is just flat wrong from the jump.

PETA takes something okay (as the NRA would be if it was just about safety classes and such) and turns it into a grotesque mess through extremism of viewpoint.

I am not saying that animal rights and gun ownership are equally worthy but, again, there were only three choices.

But maybe its because I'm more familiar with the SBC.

You need to find an example of an organization that is just kicking their opponents asses. To the point that even when there's a huge news story that would seem sure to sway public opinion against their agenda there's no noticeable support on the part of the voting public to put in place laws or measures the organization would oppose.

That's what the NRA would be more like.
