I think we should.
We can kill the wall next year.
Me.
(35,454 posts)Then we'll talk wall, so he doesn't go back on his word
It's like telling a child "I'll give you this candy if you stop screaming," and then being surprised when they eat the candy and keep screaming.
That orange idiot racist fuckhead is all about his own instant gratification and aggrandizement. His word isn't worth shit, and only a fool would accept his guarantee on anything.

(29,254 posts)but compromising with the far right only pushes the nation more to the right.
When he rescinded the executive order on Dreamers he said that Congress should fix it with legislation.
A clean bill (a term he didn't understand yesterday) is what he basically called for... and that is what should be passed. And it would pass except for Ryan and McConnell being terrified of the "Freedom Caucus" (Authoritarian Caucus).

(7,947 posts)DACA would have to come first.
"We can talk about the Wall after that."
The GOP does this all the time. "Susan Collins, vote for our tax bill, and then we'll talk about what you want!"

(6,096 posts)Promise if he signs DACA, we'll vote for his wall. Then renege.

(6,139 posts)the same stuff that was already proposed before and failed as part of comprehensive immigration reform. Its mostly technology but also fence (not wall), cbp wants transparent barrier - of course trump will call it a wall. Yes, they should approve it because dems had voted for it before. Its clear now after reading the book that the media needs to start translating trumps language of grotesque and 4 y.o. vocabulary to appropriate standards.Instead, they keep sensasiolazing every dumb word he said. It is what it is and will only get worse as he is not willing to seek treatment for his condition.

(30,481 posts)As long as DACA is not attached to the start of the wall. Dirty little secret. The wall is a joke. It can't be built. Period. Not the way they imagine. We should be gleeful over such a deal.

(21,946 posts)He can't be trusted . You can trust a dog not to eat a biscuit if you tell him no a lot more than you can trust trump to keep his word.

(3,145 posts)Truth is, even if Trump were to renege, that wall will be bogged down with logistics, planning and litigation by landowners, environmental groups and so on for YEARS.
