I Came Home From Work And My Wife Was Crying In Bed With The News On

I asked her what was wrong. She said "how could he say that" to me. Well, we both know how, but it just hurt her terribly.

My wife was born in Bolivia, and then migrated to Venezuela as a teenager. I am sure both Bolivia and Venezuela would qualify as s-holes in the Trump mind.

She has told me of some of the horrible jobs she had to work, like when she was a waitress in a two story restaurant, and the owner kept all the tips. She got minimum wage packing plates up and down stairs, while the customer thought they were tipping her for her hard work, and great service. Sick.

She now is working on her second degree, third if you count the degree in economics she got in Venezuela. She has paid hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes, from withholding to real estate taxes, and all the other taxes.

Donald Trump literally hurt my wife.

Today I hate his guts with a little more whiter hotter hate.

I know you are not supposed to hate, but you are not supposed to speed either.

God Damn You Donald Trump. May you burn in hell you ignorant racist snowflake.

Their children and grandchildren have given a lot back to America.

Tell your wife that we cannot let Trump define, demean and humiliate us.
He is a bully, and we are good people.

Best wishes on her educational pursuits, she sounds like a hard working,
intelligent woman. She should be proud of herself, and tell Trump to F-off.

Saying "and your welfare check was thiiiiiiis big!!!!!"

She got zero cents in "aid" from the US Government.

She ate pasta, and Casadillas and on Friday when she got her paycheck, she would go to Pagliacci and get a slice of pizza and a beer. That was her reward for working and going to school all week. And by the way she paid her tuition out of her pocket.

Her check was this big, as I spread my arms and hands as wide as possible...... This big......

The only good thing to come from the Orange Shitgibbon is showing us how fragile our Democracy is and how we need to fight and fight hard to preserve it. Every single person in the US (with the exception of Native Americans) is either an immigrant or is descended from immigrants.

My mother could trace her ancestry back to before the Revolution, but her side of the family were still immigrants when then came over from England, seeking to escape to a better life. My father's parents immigrated from Germany to escape the Nazi's.

And as for those so-called Christians, I remember, as a child of perhaps 5 or 6, going to Sunday School. One of the songs we sang was:

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Black and yellow, red and white
They're all precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

Sorry if I seem to be rambling, I just detest trump to the point I have to leave the room or change the channel when a video clip of him talking comes on. This country was built on inclusion not exclusion, and yes there has been bigotry since the first Pilgrim, but we have worked for 400 years to stamp it out, so, for all of our sakes, get out and vote and take back Congress in Nov. And show the GOP the we are firm believers in the Golden Rule and we shall block everything that Trump wants to do as they blocked Obama, and we will make damn sure that if Trump actually makes it 2020 the most important thing on our agenda is to make sure he is a one-term asshole/pResident.

And they are shitholes because they were full of right-wing assholes, who never wanted to pay enough taxes to make things work they way they should, so roads were bad, libraries and schools underfunded.

So, yeah, "shithole" is definitely in the eye of the beholder, but Trump meant it in a racist way.

The greatest thing about America is when you say you are an American, you are. You can't move to France and call yourself a Frenchman. It doesn't work that way.

Racist right wing nazi assholes don't understand this.

She just kept saying, "This goes against everything this country should stand for."

As to hating Trump, that's pretty easy, but what I really hate is this chest pounding white nationalism, because it takes us backwards. According to the US Census world population clock, there are over 7.4 billion people living on this planet.

Those 'shithole' countries to which Trump was referring are poor because of capitalism and greed. The thing that is backwards about Trump, Bannon, DeVos, and the rest of his crappy, ignorant, anti-intellectual, white-supremacist administration is this:

- We all live on, and share, this one world.
- In order for this world to continue to support our species, we need to begin planning forward as a species, not a bunch of nations.
- Now, more than ever, the policies we set must necessarily organize us around human need, not human greed.
- Human need necessarily includes the state of this world's environment, because we all must live on this world.

I'm a progressive, and believe our tax dollars need to be spent making our lives better, not making it so some billionaire parasites or shareholders in big corporations can get richer at the expense of the rest of us. I want our taxes to be spent on childcare, early childhood education, elementary, secondary and postsecondary education, creating an infrastructure that serves us all and that we can all be proud of. I want healthcare and a strong old age pension so I can be financially comfortable after I have to stop working. I want my children and grandchildren to be able to take time off to care for their children, and for other family members, and not suffer financially. I want my children and grandchildren to be able to live in decent housing with clean water, broadband communications, heat their homes with clean energy and not have to risk disease caused by corporate pollution.

I want corporate charters adjusted so the fiduciary responsibility of the C-class corporate officers is not ONLY to shareholders, but to customers, the general public and the environment.

We need to rethink the need for wars, and for all the money that goes toward 'defense,' and as we retool our society, we need to retrain those who lose 'defense' related jobs and at the same time develop new and peaceful technologies and endeavors where they can be employed instead.

Yes, I am politically active in my local Democratic party. Yes, I caucus, vote in primaries, carefully review ballot referendums, and vote in every election. Yes, I write, call and speak personally to those elected to represent me locally, statewide and federally. I sign petitions, and do my utmost to drive local policies in directions that support human need.

I do not apologize for being a progressive, or Democratic Socialist or whatever you want to call me, and it is not my responsibility to try and change some anti-intellectual quasi-literate person's mind. It is time for those of us who are capable of imagining what we and this world can be if we work unselfishly together for the common needs of people to stand up and be active and peaceful change agents.

I do not apologize for being an idealist, and do not consider it my responsibility to bring you around to my way of thinking. Indeed, with the current human-caused deterioration of the global climate, I believe events themselves will cause pressure in this direction.

I do not apologize for believing that reorganizing around human need is possible. Again, I do not take on myself the responsibility of convincing anyone else of this imperative. Events will do that for me.

Above all, personally, I believe in living by the golden rule. In as far as possible in our consumer society, I try to do unto others as I would have them do unto me. I believe in hard work, out of the box thinking, and entrepreneurship, and I believe that people are motivated by MORE than profits and that most people would like to live comfortably, and do something for a living that has meaning. Like Obama said, I believe that no one who works full time should have to live in poverty, without healthcare or other benefits that make life worth living.

Can we do it?

The earth will be fine whether we organize ourselves to preserve its ability to support human life OR whether we fuck it up so bad we go extinct and it becomes a smoking cinder circling the sun. Our destiny is up to us.

I suppose that makes me a
