This isn't a Terry McAuliffe endorsement thread

He used to give off a salesperson vibe but he grows on me. He has the everyman personae down pat without being an idiot. He definitely passes the "who would you like to watch a sporting event with" test.

We were warned at one of them (Executive Mansion) that the "energy level is going to go through the roof" and it did. He has a constant motor. He gave himself an exemption to the no alcohol policy on Commonwealth property - he has Guinness on tap on the first floor of the Mansion. Before his wife moved in to the Mansion he had a "month of parties' to schmooze with legislators and the like.

The first event was a school trip with my daughter. He heard there was a school group in the capital so he popped in and took questions. He said he couldn't do anything about having LESS school.

Former Governors of Virginia become "rainmakers" as Larry Sabato calls them. They get hired by the big Richmond and D.C. law firms mostly to lobby. Terry is loaded anyway but he's set for life now.

I wouldn't put a run past him. I doubt he challenges Warner or Kaine so he either just takes it in or takes a run at the big seat. He's a tough nut. Started his own paving company when he was in high school (if memory serves) and just kept going from there.

See my post above about being in the room with him.
