What difference does it really make if donald's dr. lied or not?

I mean beyond the obvious treating the public like they are all pretty damn stupid...which they will continue to do anyway.

If donald is in poor health, does is make it more or less likely that his supporters will withdraw their support? If he is in poor health, do those people who value true Democratic policies get to kick him out of office? Well of course not, it changes little.

OTOH, donald may actually believe his own falsehoods and fail to make any necessary life changes. I see that as a win. Keep those KFCs, burgers and diet cokes coming.

1. I never expected to be given a true report.

The way the whole thing was handled made it obvious it was just a dog and pony show merged with smoke and mirrors.

I doubt he will make any changes. He has always done and said what he wanted, with no consequences. Hopefully they have all been gathering to steam roll him, all at once.

And getting a doctor to lie to the public. That’s what.

4. The truth is that Trump is overweight, doesn't exercise and eats junk food.

Even at his age, weight and habits a person can have normal-appearing vital signs - even if his arteries look like radiator hoses full of wallpaper paste. The exam the doctor did obviously was nothing more than the superficial going-over anybody would get during a routine doctor visit and it would not necessarily detect evidence of underlying heart disease or other afflictions that don't always manifest themselves in early stages. Trump is infamous for hating to be touched (unless he's porking a porn star) so it's likely the doc's rubber-gloved fingers didn't find their way to certain areas at all. Betcha Kroner to Krugerrands he didn't strip down past his underwear (or even that), and recited his own fake height and weight statistics - and the doctor, who is a naval officer under the command of the Commander in Chief, just wrote them down and didn't argue.

It's not uncommon for people (especially old, fat, sedentary ones) to leave their doctors' offices after having received a clean bill of health, and drop over dead from a coronary the next day.

14. Trump could walk in bleeding from the ears...

And then fall down and have a frothy-mouthed seizure on the floor, and that doctor would still give him a clean bill. It's been part of the script since these doctors started giving these Presidential physicals.

6. For me, it makes a difference because we can all understand why the politicians lie for trumpy,

but the fact that someone apolitical like the doctor would blatantly lie like that suggests that Trumpy can "get to" anybody (whether with intimidation or promises of money/favors) and nobody is beyond his reach of manipulation.
He runs D.C. Like a mob boss, hopefully he won't be Teflon Don for long.

11. which premise? The OP where I don't care that the Dr lied?

not sure what evidence you need....I cannot produce evidence of my opinion. I really don't sweat over the Dr/s obvious lies.

As for assuming many in the military are politically engaged, therefore not a-political:

In a new survey of American military personnel, Donald Trump emerged as active-duty service members' preference to become the next U.S. president, topping Hillary Clinton by more than a 2-to-1 margin. However, in the latest Military Times election survey, more than one in five troops said they’d rather not vote in November if they have to choose between just those two candidates.

But given only those choices, 21 percent of the service members surveyed said they would abstain from voting.More than 54 percent of the 951 troops Military Times surveyed said they would vote for Trump, the presumed Republican presidential nominee, over Clinton, the Democratic front-runner. Only about 25 percent said they would vote for Clinton in that matchup.

19. Well, if President Trump suffers the same fate as Justice Scalia . . .

Justice Scalia suddenly dropped dead on a little junket, which isn't all that surprising for a 79-year-old obese smoker of sedentary habits. Yet it became fodder for all kinds of dark rumors about how Scalia had been rubbed out by shadowy forces. The ridiculousness came to nothing, mostly because Trump got to name Scalia's successor instead of Obama.

But if Trump suddenly keels over on the eighth fairway in the next couple of months, there will be an incredible outpouring of ersatz grief, followed swiftly by the wildest of conspiracy theory-mongering. If you think Hannity, Limbaugh, and Jones are unhinged now, you will have seen nothing like how they'll react in the event of Trump's sudden demise. Questions will be raised about Dr. Jackson's examination, whether he poisoned the Dear Leader, why he didn't foresee whatever health risk felled the Great Man, and why aren't Democrats beating their breasts and wearing sackcloth and ashes? What part did Hillary play in this?

There will be any number of nutjobs who are right on the ragged edge who will go over if Trump dies in office. How many they'll take with them is anyone's guess. Any lies or omissions by the doctor will certainly make a difference to the surviving friends and families of the perpetrators and the victims.

20. Makes it harder for them to claim health issues when GOP wants to get rid of him.

Which leads to more dramatic and politically traumatic methods required to get rid of him. That's a huge problem they just kicked out into the public eye. If the administration's "medical examiner" lied, how are they planning to handle things when Drumpf finally goes off the deep end, either physically or mentally?

22. It's about the chronic lying IMO.

I think it crosses a line if a doctor, sworn to the Hippocratic Oath, "stretches the truth" about someone's health for any reason. He's not supposed to be just another toady in the White House of Lies. It seems plausible that this doctor may be stretching the truth about his patient who is widely known for chronic lying and paying people off or threatening them to get whatever he wants.

24. not that I don't agree with your overall premise.....

...but I don't now how lying about POTUS health runs counter to the Hypocratic oath. Perhaps that's because the only line I have heard much about is "do no harm" presumably to the patient. I really don't know what's in the rest of the oath. I was just listening to NPR where the US gymnastics team doctor molested at least 150 young girls/patients. I guess, I'm saying is that the oath doesn't insure squat.

25. "professional ethical standards"

Like any oath, there are no guarantees of compliance. I suppose this phrase from the modern oath would apply:

May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling...

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/body/hippocratic-oath-today.html

"Stretching the truth" about your patient's health would assuredly not be considered one of the "finest traditions" of medicine.

To Trump, if he was is given the correct information and a suggested course of treatment, nothing.

To the country, not much, unless the doctor knows that Trump is a threat to the country for medical and not ideological reasons, and chose not to disclose it.

34. You know it can be true that his blood numbers and BP are WNL

There are many over weight people his age with decent CBC scores and blood pressure. I'm a little younger and have similar scores and lower cholesterol. Is it good to be overweight? No.... Always working on losing pounds myself. But it's not like this is an impossibility or a lie by the doctor. Good for Trump that he appears healthy. Doesn't mean he won't die tomorrow. There are lots of young men in their 40's in good shape who die of heart attacks. Personally I'm more concerned about the misleading information about the mental status test. The test he was given is not a test given to assess personality disorders or over all "mental" wellness. It means he is oriented to time and place at that given moment. It means he is not confused. Psychotic people pass the test and it is not a diagnostic tool for personality disorders. The message lay people hear when he passed that test is that he is mentally well. That is not the case and that gives me far more alarm than the numbers on a scale.
