This shutdown will reflect on him and his Party. He can't blame this on Obama. It will probably have a negative effect on the stock market as well - which he has been touting that the record levels were all his doing.

He will garner his much desired attention, be it good or bad. The bad will be blamed on others, mainly Democrats. He will find something "good" to take credit for to retain his base.
