Catching an 8:00 AM train to NYC for the Women's March there. I hope I'm just one among a million. I'm turning in for the night now because Janet and I are leaving the house at 6:15 AM to make connections from our home in the Catskills. We thought of going to the March in Woodstock, which would be more convenient, but NYC is the largest March that we can make it to, and so that is where we will be.
Good luck and thank you to all DUers who plan to participate in one of the Marches tomorrow. We will be seen AND heard!

(4,642 posts)dems are listening to their base and will stand united, they will not vote for the bill or any extension. We will have to see what plan B is. I say don't give in to the fascists, stand strong dems!

(3,515 posts)If the Republicans take the majority in the House and Senate, let them at least agree among themselves on how to govern.
They have left Democrats out of the governing picture. And they were horrible during Obama's final years in office, even refusing to consider his nominee for the Supreme Court.
Well. What goes around comes around. Let the Republicans work out their budget woes without Democratic support.
Bipartisanship means both parties compromise. Democrats have done too much of the compromising work. Let's see whether Republicans are even capable of compromising with each other. No Democrats should help them out of the cranky, "ornary" mess they have created for themselves and the country.

(1,076 posts)CHIP AND DACA, the kids or DACA AND CHIP, both relate to the kids. Sure some of the kids may be older, but they were kids when they came here.
Give the kids health insurance to live, give the kids citizenship to get on with their lives. Lets go back to what Lady Liberty says.

(347 posts)My daughter will be marching and I'm NOT happy about it.
You see, my daughter is marching for the same thing her mother marched for 25 years ago
that
her grandmother marched for 50 years ago
that
her great-grandmother marched for 75 years ago
that
her great-great-grandmother marched for 100 years ago.
25 years from now, will my granddaughter be marching for what her mother marched for tomorrow -- which is the same thing her grandmother marched for . . . . . . .
WHY IN GOD'S NAME ARE WE STILL PROTESTING THIS SHIT?????
