White House Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney predicted Congress will reach a deal to avoid a government shutdown within the next day.
"I think there's a deal in the next 24 hours, he said during an interview on CNN.
The government will shut down if Congress does not pass a spending bill before midnight Friday, but Mulvaney said that is not much of a hard deadline because federal offices do not reopen until Monday.
I look at it more in terms of what gets done before offices are supposed to open on Monday, he said. And I think youre going to see a deal.

Then again Mulvaney is a bit of a dumbfuck.
