And Sarah is now the more likely Sanders to be in the news.

(34,178 posts)It's just my opinion. If its not true it won't resonate with anyone.

(32,640 posts)You didn't state it like it was an opinion. You might want to be clearer when you trash DU next time.

(42,862 posts)OMG! So much hand-wringing! It's difficult for me to believe that the feelings and sensitivities of mature adults are so fragile that an ambiguous OP subject-line would cause such consternation.

(7,681 posts)The difference between that one and this one doesn't need to be explained. You know what it it, I know what it is, everyone knows what it is. So why play this game? Seriously, what is the point?
still_one
(92,304 posts)I knew what it was is wrong until I read the content, and that isn't the only OP which just refers to a common last name without identifying the first name.
Whenever there could be confusion, the title of an OP should try and avoid that so there is no ambiguity

(24,422 posts)I feel like I always need to do a double-take on a lot of these things because, unfortunately, Bernie is not always Democrats' best friend and goes "off the reservation" even though he caucuses with us.

(6,288 posts)Umm, anyone following news lately knows that bernie wouldn't make this statement in the first place, but Sarah Sanders did.
So why would they think its about him at all?
BumRushDaShow
(129,258 posts)And like a few others have posted recently, I have vowed from now on to call Sarah Sanders - "Sarah SLANDERS".
I think it's because before we ended up with her as the official SPOX, her name just wasn't bandied about around here except mostly as her being Sarah Huckabee (or Huckleberry... ) without her married name.
Wwcd
(6,288 posts)..headers referring to her as 'Sanders', perhaps as she became more well known, thus shortening her name to one word.
Nonetheless, her statement is typical deflection by Trump admin that pretty much drives the ire & division in the country.
Because without keeping that divided line holding firm, trump would have nothing & no base other than imaginary media bots & meme pushers.
Which is why he had such a scant showing for his inauguration.
Imaginary bots & trolls from Russia & the Ukraine can't physically attend a public gathering.
Cuz most are not real people.
Thus the need for people like Sarah Sanders to feed the divide.

(10,500 posts)I said "they seem to have an honest misunderstanding of the post."
I don't believe that the OP was being deliberately deceptive. But I think that he or she should edit their post to be more clear who they are talking about.

(12,633 posts)since the post is still here. And I agree that the post would best be edited for clarity, since I'm sure the OP did not do this purposely as click-bait.

There is no appropriate alert selection for this type error.
NurseJackie
(42,862 posts)You want to alert on that? Really? What an odd thing to get so tense about.

(18,296 posts)may be a type of "alertable error" because the senator from Vermont is the "default" name-holder.

(32,640 posts)too difficult?
TheBlackAdder
(28,210 posts)People just browsing the OP titles in the forum might get the impression that BS is coming down against the Democrats. After all, it plays into certain people's narratives. It's a given SHS would blame the Democrats, so there is no surprise in that.
ehrnst
(32,640 posts)I don't think that's a lot to ask.
Wwcd
(6,288 posts)Why would anyone think it wasn't her
TheBlackAdder
(28,210 posts).
Of course Sarah Sanders blames the Democrats. She's not going to blame Republicans.
That's what makes the OP's title even more duplicitous, giving the GD thread topic reader the impression it's Bernie.
.
Wwcd
(6,288 posts)How many people have the name Sanders in the USA?
Could be anybody.
Why do people just assume its about bernie? He would never say something like this.
Would he?
Sara gets much more press than bernie lately anyway, seems normal to think the headline is about her.
TheBlackAdder
(28,210 posts)There's been an OP history that tries to cast Bernie Sanders in whatever bad light possible, even if that is just the subliminal OP title that people see on the GD page and don't click on it. Sort of like running Google ads, knowing that one will be read, but a thousand people will see the ad title and not click on it. So, if you word the ad properly, you get the message across without incurring a click charge.
It's a given SHS would back up Trump, so the OP was really a waste anyway.
And, no. The defacto is Bernie Sanders here. This was discussed in multiple other OPs over the past year.

BoneyardDem
(1,202 posts)....now there's "soft" rules?
FWIW, I had to make sure the full scope and context, so I opened and read the thread. BS has scolded Dems often enough....I wouldn't have been able to determine which Sanders just from the headline. But if one is assuming this OP is about BS, they could have had some precedence for thinking so.....seems like many Bernie supporters assumed this was about BS.

(6,288 posts)Its about the typical shitty statement made against the Dems from the trump spokesmodel Sarah Sanders.
Bernie's barely in the news anymore.
Everythings not always about bernie sanders.
Geez.
NurseJackie
(42,862 posts)With a phrase like "blames Democrats" in the title, it should be self-evident which Sanders is making news.
And you know... even if it's not evident to some people, or even if some people automatically assume the opposite... I have to be honest here, it's really NOT all that hard for those individuals to READ beyond the subject line (assuming they're curious enough) to find out for sure.

ismnotwasm
(41,998 posts)I suppose, given what she has to work with, and the apparent expectation of ignoring any inconvenient truth she actually does a good job, but, damn this is surreal. She simply does not care what she says.
On edit, reading the thread, its not hard to figure out which Sanders is doing what.
Wwcd
(6,288 posts)In the Twitter world, which is used by every media & business, musician & politician etc., the # of characters is limited pr tweet, Sanders is far less characters than Huckabee-Sanders.
I could come up with a few other descript words to shorten her legal name, but she wouldn't like them much.
