Sometime between now and February 8th:
- Mitch will allow a vote on DACA in Senate, it will pass. But it will die there. Paul Ryan won't take up the bill in the House.
On or about March 5th:
- The MAGAts will start screaming for the Dreamers to be deported now that DACA has expired. Trump will decide to extend the temporary protection for DACA from March 5th until after the election. He will do this because, even his reptilian brain knows that the optics of Dreamers being dragged from their homes before the midterm elections will crush the GOP. So he will kick this can down the road.
January:
- The Democrats will retake the House in November, and their first action will be to take up the DACA bill that Paul Ryan refused to take up. This will cause a DACA bill to be on Trump's desk.
- Assuming he is still President (who knows where Mueller's investigation will go?), he will try to extract an agreement from the Dems in the House to *NOT* impeach him in exchange for him signing the DACA bill. This will be the next inflection point. The Dems will dare Trump to veto the DACA bill. The overwhelming popularity of the DACA bill will cause Trump to sign it, hoping that this slows the march to impeachment. It won't.

I agree with how this is likely to play out.
I wonder if Ryan will begin to worry about midterms. Refusing to bring DACA to the floor will look very bad - except for the 30% base. GOP is power hungry. trump knows Democrats in control of House will put him in a world of hurt. Things could get very interesting in GOP. GOP civil war? trump bash House because of fear of Democratic House? Perhaps the GOP house of shit will come down as the door has now been kicked in.
