"Yes. Look around! He Sent The Women"

My 9 year old daughter Samantha asked me why we are all marching.

I told her that the world is in bad shape right now and we have to fight back.

She asked if God is sending help.

I said “Yes. Look around! He sent the women.” - Will Bailey

One of the signs I liked at the march...We Marched and then We Ran. It is not just going to be a Blue Wave coming it is going to be predominately female.

Murdered family members, sick children with no healthcare, low pay for women,
cannot afford to send their children to college. Etc Etc.

She posted some weird video from a site I’ve never heard of called World Cloud. Said nobody knows what they’re there for, just collecting pay and the money has to run out sooner or later. Whoa 😮 She’s losing it!

On Twitter, I saw one girl's summary of what it cost her to make her protest trip to DC and it was in the range of $600 with travel and lodging. She did get paid though....in loads of inspiration and outright awesomeness.

They felt women should stay at home and raise children.
Not work, and certainly not get into professional schools, or make more money than men.
They agreed with a lot of the men who said women were not smart or emotionally stable enough to work in "male" professionals and could only be secretaries, teachers and nurses.

When I was young, those were the only career choices for most women.
Women could not get into med or law school or other graduate programs.
It began to change around 1974.

Following surgery, I've been on a long road to recovery for quite some time, and while I haven't weighed in on many DU posts, I want to say this site has helped keep me sane on my darkest days. Yours words have particularly resonated with me.

Recently, a long-time friend, a college professor, told me she is heartsick about what's happening in our country. Pretty much summed it up for me. Thanks again, sheshe, for reminding me to stay strong.

Cheers and blessings.

So good to see you again. Sorry you have been going through such a long recovery, made more difficult in these painful times.

Thank you. I too drew strength from that simple message. It rang so true, especially watching the women's marches and rallies part 2 this weekend. The first one was just the beginning and we are getting stronger. I will be forever grateful to the men and children that have supported us as well. I was there for the first march and again for a rally this year. The women and men that spoke gave me hope. We are not done yet, not by a long shot.

"He sent the women."

Peace my dear.
