"Democrats lost their nerve"

This WashPost article claims Congressional Democrats -- specifically Schumer and Pelosi -- lost their nerve in the face of Republican attacks because of Chuck and Nancy's stance on Dreamers. According to the Post, Chuck and Nancy are concerned that their base will lose our energy before November and the best way to keep us energized is to cave to Republican lies.

Is this bullshit or what?

I've said it before and will say it again: We Democrats are an army of lions being led by rabbits. Cowardly rabbits at that.

I'm active in Virginia Democratic politics, Progressive politics, and a big regional Indivisible group. Every Democrat with whom I have any contact is fired up, ready to roll -- and 100% behind a permanent DACA act. We are ready to elect Democrats in November 2018 and beyond, no matter what it takes.

Too bad our "leaders" don't share our fire and dedication.

1. Democrats made a very public agreement

to help children, via CHIP and DACA. If Republicans don't keep their word, they will be very public liars and traitors to children. Who would vote for someone who would betray children and keep them hostage? That speaks to your essential character, Republicans are like those parents in California, right?

The Republicans control the House, the Senate and the WH. Democrats hand isn't strong, yet they've forced the CHIP program through and come back in 2 weeks still holding another Govt Shutdown over McConnell's head, if he breaks his word.

Too bad their "followers" don't share the "leaders" experience and political ability.

People can start on the offensive with DACA by making sure republicans cannot free it as an immigration issue.

It is an issue of fairness to children whose only real home country is USA.

and a chance to have the real fight in 3 weeks if McConnel does not deliver. Dreamers aren't going anywhere and the real battle is next 3 weeks when it becomes obvious that trump lacks leadership and the republicans are pure 100% racist.

the shutdown in 3 weeks will be the one where schumer and pelosi will prevail
