Democrats just got the last laugh with a brilliant surprise move after shutdown

In an effort to negotiate with Trump prior to the government shutdown ending, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) had reportedly offered to put $1.6 billion in funding for Trump’s unpopular border wall on the table in exchange for a deal on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

“During the meeting, in exchange for strong [DACA] protections, I reluctantly put the border wall on the table for the discussion. Even that was not enough to entice the president to finish the deal,” Schumer said from the Senate floor.

Ultimately, the final outcome included neither a DACA deal nor border wall funding. Trump, for his part, touted victory, claiming that Republicans got the government funded, “got” the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) funded (despite the fact that Republicans were responsible for letting it lapse in the first place), and didn’t yet have to negotiate a DACA deal.

In a surprise twist, however, Schumer has withdrawn his previous offer to put border wall funding on the table. Per Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), who was involved in the negotiation, Schumer reportedly “took it off.”

we will see another Shut Down on in two weeks, count on it,the Rethugs have burned their last trust bridge with the hate filled Ads against Schumer and the Dem Senators. Clair MacAskill made McConnell own the Shut Down and we have to remember where she is in the Senatorial Power Structure.

This is not over by a long shot. As we see info dribbling out today, looks like McConnell is front loading this new Budget deal with every item the American Public hates.

Schumer/Durbin are the new Senate Power Players. Yes,the Electronic Media as well as the Trumpsters are spinning things with their message,it was the Dems fault. Not!!!!!!

McConnell has burned himself with his lack of trust. Harry Reid's Senate Aide has said on more than one occasion, you can not trust McConnell. And he knows the inside game when it comes to Senate Rules and will exploit them to his advantage. He also claims McConnell has met his match with the Schumer/Durbin team up.

trump has one strategy. let others fight out the best deal they can make, then step in, blow it all up, and and take more.

That's not hard to disrupt if you know that is what he will do. Plus, he just isn't very smart. That will bite him when dealing with viscous adults.

There is no way, no fucking way, that these douchebag republicans will give up a clean DACA bill.

I understand rooting for the home team, and fighting for our principles, but giving the DACA kids citizenship is going to come with a heavy price.

Personally, I’d rather give him a wall (that will end up doing jack shit) than passing all their other conditions; like ending chain migration and lowering green card limits.

....and that was before he withdrew funding for the wall.

This make him MUCH shrewder, and basically Schumer gave trump the middle finger.
