1. Mueller’s team doesn’t leak.

2. The investigation is closing in around Trump and this is the perfect time for Don McGahn to leak the story and make it clear as day that he didn’t participate in the crime(s).

I'm just guessing, but I think it's why he, Bannon, and Priebus all share the same lawyer -- which normally would be frowned on. They're all cooperating with Mueller.
