A quote I've seen at DU, "Trump doesn't know what is coming" is true.

Trump has pissed off the FBI, the Justice Department, previous office holders, the media, Democratic Party, certain leaders in Europe, most of the people in the U.S. and so on, and on. He has the lowest approval rating of any president at this time. He creates and sends out evil and "hate." When the payback comes, it will as vicious as what Trump has created. I don't know when or what, but it will arrive. When it does, I think we will all know it, and we also know, that he deserves it. All of it.

Jan 2018

As ye sow, so shall ye reap.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Bible-Verses-About-Reap-What-You-Sow/

This one is also applicable -- same cite.

Proverbs 16:18

“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Proverbs-16-18/

Pride -- a haughty spirit -- Trump.

Trump sows lies, distrust, greed and hatred. Of course, those at the things he will reap.

Some call it "karma."

This has been here before, and will be here again. Yes, the bible goes back a long way..but so does arrogance and hate, and what Trump represents. So many of us in the U.S. despise what Trump represents, that if or when he leaves, it will be like a holiday. How this will happen? Don't know. Will it happen? I think so. His attitude and hate has gotten worse, not better. There is one quality a leader needs, and that is the ability to "shut up" and listen.

I do not think Trump understands that last sentence.

If he could be facing obstruction of justice, his lawyer will say "It's over."

His reputation will be in tatters and he will be stripped of his office. Ty Cobb will probably tick off one by one each horror he will face. I don't think Cobb wants to go down with that sinking ship...

The dump version of events however will be something along the lines of how he has now made America great again and so can exit at the top of the presidential game--as the greatest president, ever--in order to tend to his thriving real estate empire. Nothing whatsoever to do with that Mueller business.

For the sake of my question, assume that Trump is guilty of everything that any of us can imagine.

Then what?

Impeachment?

Jail?

Death penalty? (I oppose this remedy.)

What else?

We’re all so eager to see this idiot removed that we may be underestimating how much Republicans will support him and refuse to do anything—even in the face of proven Russian collusion and obstruction of justice. I hate to be a wet blanket because no one could possibly want to see him gone more than I do, but even if Democrats win the House, we are unlikely to win the Senate. At best, we might have a tie. So after Dems take their seats in the House in 2019, they might vote to impeach. I don’t believe the senate will follow, and we will be stuck with Trump until 2020. I’m not sure I can last if that is the case, so anyone who wants to tell me I’m totally wrong, please do! I really, really want to be wrong in this case.

Mon Jan 29, 2018, 07:59 PM

I agree that about 99% of the FBI from the top down is pissed beyond all belief at Trump.

I can't speak for the FBI, however, I served 28 years in the Army. I could no longer serve as an infantry officer because of wounds from Vietnam, so I spent 20 years in intelligence. Because of some language skills, I served in several CIA assignments and still maintain contact with some of my CIA spook friends.

The spooks are P I S S E D. They are seething. They hate Trump with a white-hot heat. Even the hard-core Republican spooks -- and there are a lot of them. They don't look upon him as a Republican, they view him as a tool of Putin, they see him as the most serious danger we have faced ever.

I suspect the FBI rank-and-file and leadership fell the same way.
