The guy who gave David Bowdich, SWAT operator and sniper, counterterrorism expert, his LAST promotion was one Robert Mueller III - then Mueller was FBI Dir.

(31,261 posts)Good that he has no involvement with the Trump campaign. He was third in command under Comey.

(89,244 posts)This was just about starting someone one a job that he would do anyways earlier on.
But the original reason for mccabe leaving was pressure from the admin and that should not be forgotten.

(6,288 posts)McCabe's retiring gave Wray the opportunity to build his dept & he wasted no time in doing so.
Also it sounds like Repubs are NOT happy with Bowdich's sudden appt.
It sounds like they were caught offguard & Wray had had Bowdich in place when McCabe made his announcement today.
I guess Repubs were hoping for someone more to their liking.
This is what I'm reading as news is flying by quickly right now.
Guess we'll know more as the dust settles.
Me.

(108,973 posts)because Wray was pressuring me to.
Wray would then look good to Trump. Meanwhile, Wray is surrounding himself with people like Dana Boente and David Bowditch.

(10,826 posts)he quickly got one of his own guys in there as a replacement, someone who just so happens to have worked under Mueller when he was FBI director.
Sounds about as good as we can expect at the moment.

(6,288 posts)This is a good thing for us.
I am sure we'll hear calls of "Bias!" because of Bowdich's association to Mueller.

(6,288 posts)With Nunes announcement today, to release his handcrafted for-ultimate-impact memo,
I have absolute faith that nothing the Repubs throw at Mueller at this point will prevent the destruction of the Kremlin coup.
Mueller is many steps ahead of them.
He sees Nunes' tantrum threat today for what it is.

He's got nothin but bluster & threats.
We will be ok.

If they do, my guess is they screw up. Why aggravate a pit bull?
Mister Ed
(5,926 posts)I agree that there's simply no need to aggregate a pit bull. To aggravate one, though, is not only needless but downright dangerous.

Apparently he was mentioned by Comey as number three at the F.B.I.

(108,973 posts)Mueller's top priority when he was at the FBI.
And Mueller gave him at least one of his promotions.
In the long run I don't think Trump will be happy with this appointment.
