Second woman is arrested in Iran for hijab protest,

the same day previous demonstrator whose iconic image went viral is released by regime

A second woman has been arrested in Iran for protesting against the mandatory law that civilians must cover themselves with a hijab while out in public.

These brave women face arrest for uncovering their hair in public. Sometimes it's hard to believe that we are living in the 21st century. I can't imagine this level of oppression.

In other places, though, not so much. I remember hiking in Turkey in 1968, and happening into a tiny village that could have been exactly the same 2000 years prior to my visit.

I was received by the people there as a honored guest and later returned several times. Friendliest people ever!
