In the end, Trump's base won't care that he colluded with Russia nor obstructed justice.

And that means that the Republicans won't act. In the end, Trump's base does not care about America, does not care about the rule of law, does not care about Russian influence. They only care about preserving/enhancing their racial privilege.

This is why all efforts to "reach out" to them. Address their economic concerns. Pass protectionist laws to re-open their factories. In fact, the entire progressive agenda is simply not going to work on them. You can nominate Bernie. You can nominate Biden. You can nominate anyone you damn well please. No Democrat is going to win over these voters. They only care about maintaining their racial majority. That's it.

The only path forward is build a coalition around these people. Lock them out of power entirely.

and that all the others are second class.

Having smoke constantly blown up your butt works, sadly, on many people.

Frankly they’re addicted to it. They can’t deal without fox news every day and they really, really hate anything that threatens to take away all that precious smoke that gets blown up theirs butt.

They feel entitled to permanent majority status. Are all of them racist? No. Are a majority of them are? Again, probably not, but they want the comfort of being a racial majority.

10. And that coalition will have to address economic issues as it addresses social issues.

The reality is, those sets of issues are distinct, yet connected, and a multiracial coalition can't be built on "pro-business" economic policies. Pro-business economics and a useless fixation with the deficit are always going to create an economy that leaves too many out in the cold, and especially leaves out too many working-class people of color.

It's time to let go of the myth of a great divide between the economic justice and social justice movements. in "the real world", those movements are made up of the same people 85% of the time.

Egalitarianism isn't about appeasing hardcore racists-it's about uniting the majority that could exist.

12. The base is attached to a political party that is attached to American oligarchs

As long as money buys influence in our politics, the base will continue to exist, and sometimes thrive, because of the oligarchs.

White nationalists worldwide envision a White Empire stretching from North America, across Northern Europe, and into “white, Christian Russia,” as asshole Alex Jones refers to it.

Trump’s hardcore base LOVES white nationalist dictators. They’d have no trouble getting rid of “undesirables” — people of color, intellectuals, liberals, anyone who doesn’t toe the party line.

Sound familiar? “Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Fuhrer.”
