He was a horrible governor and I have no doubt he will be a horrible
president of my alma mater.

in a million years. Engler was an absolute disaster as governor of Michigan, on top of just being a nasty, nasty vindictive underhanded politician (= Republican). He mercifully dropped of the face of the earth years ago when he finished ruining Michigan's budget and hadn't been heard from since - until now. What tomb did they raid to come up with his name?

.... Given that they now have a State alum as their Repub. governor.

They are going to need all the pull they can get. The result of looking the other way will have a disastrous price. My relatives who are State grads are both horrified and despairing.

Though Mitch Daniels (former IN governor) is the actual president and not interim (he appointed the board as governor that then hired him as president - not fishy at all, right?!).
