Pierce: Sam Rayburn would have buried Nunes under the Capitol steps rather than let him run wild

like this.

Just out of pure self-preservation, Sam Rayburn would have buried Nunes under the Capitol steps rather than let him run wild like this.

Unless they have wholesale sold out to the Russians there is nothing logical in their actions.

There should be a question mark at the end of that sentence.
Not sure why DU has a problem in the headings line with any sort of - damn, I now have a brain fart for the word for things like exclamation points, question marks, quote points, etc. They are totally not able to be seen as posted.

I really responded to see if my question marks showed up. I've heard the same complaint numerous times over the past couple of months but have never tested it, or noticed.

ETA: Hey, I can see my question marks! Can you?

that they are smart enough to beat the law and pull this off with no legal threat to themselves or risk to their political careers. They must believe that they will never have to face justice, and maybe Trump has told them not to worry, he will pardon everyone if that happens. But then there's the other matter of what damage they are doing to the country, to the Constitution, to the norms of governance and ethical standards. The only conclusion I can make, is that none of those things matter against their own greed and thirst for power.

There is nothing to stop the GOP from doing whatever they want to do. They have it all....including the federal arm of law enforcement, the Attorney General, and they only care sbout keeping power(and reaping the financial benefits).
