leaders of that day, and we don't need even one of those, much less the crowds of today's counterparts that we can't get rid of.

Btw, check the closing monologues on MSNBC and CNN. People there are making this kind of statement.

Murrow and his group spent the entire 8 years of Truman's presidency insulting and sneering at him. Just imagine what they'd have done with Hillary. Just like today's Hillary-trashers, Murrow and his crowd were surprised and offended when Americans ignored their trashing enough to instead enthusiastically reelect their target. Also just like today, nothing caused the in crowd to reconsider and take another look. Too satisfied with their safe spots in the established middle and too addicted to their stock of "clever" insults.

At least today we have far more options.
