I think a slow chain reaction will start once Mueller is actually fired.

We have to remember that it is 4th and long for Donnie. He probably never thought things would get this bad for him. So here is what I think will happen.

He will fire Rosenstein next week most likely. He will be replaced with Rachel Brand. Brand will refuse to fire Mueller. Trump will fire Brand, and he will keep going to the point to which he finds someone to fire Mueller. It may not be an outright firing of Mueller, but it will be some severe hindrance to the investigation. If/when he can't find someone to fire Mueller or hinder the investigation, he will do something insane and try to fire Mueller himself. He will do whatever he thinks he can get away with to fire Mueller.

In the meantime, nothing is getting done in Congress. The CR expires shortly, and that issue has to be resolved. So in the middle of all of this, there may be another Government shutdown.

All of these things meet in a perfect storm and the Government becomes completely impotent. Leaks will start happening left and right, and there will be rumors of martial law becoming imminent, or rumors that Trump is going to start a war with NK.

The planned and organized marches that began the minute Trump fires Rosenstein will grow exponentially larger. They will morph into something huge as people finally realize the gravity of the situation. Millions will protest.

At this point, it is anyone's guess what will happen. The country will be in a state of shock and true crisis. I'm not predicting it at all, but I'm saying there is a chance that the entire country will be thrown into some state of mass violence. The result? Who knows. When your POTUS is insane, I guess anything can happen.
