Who has been a local fan since 1958, I hope to God that the Eagles crush that bunch of cheating, lying, RW-voting, fascistic Patriots and their Faux-goody-two-shoes quarterback.

(6,402 posts)The onslaught of negativity out of the administration and conservative circles are definitely making an impact as it's ratcheting up our side as well. It's unfortunate and I've called it out several times with people that they're becoming just as unhinged as those they accuse of being unhinged.

(15,265 posts)1. Patriots owner Robert Kraft is a life long Democrats who donates more money to Democrats then any NFL owner and donated to both of President Obama's campsigns.
https://nesn.com/2016/02/nfl-owners-political-donations-largely-republican-robert-kraft-more-democratic/
"NFL owners, or at least those whose donations were available, mostly donated to Republicans in both the 2008 and 2012 elections. But New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft was the owner most loyal to the Democratic side."
"Kraft donated a total of $204,000 to Democratic PACs from 2008 to 2014, while Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank came second with $177,400. However, neither donated as much or as often as their Republican counterparts."
2. Craft's friendship with Trump stems from Trumps kindness to him during his wife's illness and after her death.
http://www.businessinsider.com/patriots-owner-robert-kraft-loyal-to-donald-trump-2017-1
"Robert Kraft and President Donald Trump are close, despite the Patriots owner being a life-long Democrat.
Kraft gave an example of their friendship by noting that Trump called him repeatedly after Kraft's wife died, just to check up on him.
Kraft said Trump was one of only a few people who made that much of an effort.
The New England Patriots triumvirate of owner Robert Kraft, head coach Bill Belichick, and quarterback Tom Brady have ruffled a few feathers in the heavily Democratic Commonwealth of Massachusetts for their friendship and loyalty to President Donald Trump.
For Kraft especially, the relationship is puzzling to many since Kraft is a life-long democrat and donated to President Barack Obama's campaigns.
While Belichick and Brady have largely stayed mum on the subject, Kraft opened up about his loyalty in an interview with the New York Daily News. Kraft brought up the time his wife died and how Trump was one of the few people who was truly there for him, a time that seemingly cemented Kraft's loyalty to their friendship.
"When Myra died, Melania and Donald came up to the funeral in our synagogue, then they came for memorial week to visit with me," Kraft told the Daily News. "Then he called me once a week for the whole year, the most depressing year of my life when I was down and out. He called me every week to see how I was doing, invited me to things, tried to lift my spirits. He was one of five or six people that were like that. I remember that."
3. The Kraft family and it's foundations do a tremendous amount of charitable work.

(6,916 posts)For example, I remember when Randy Moss said straight cash, homie. When Logan Mankins busted his ACL, resulting in super bowl loss, and we didnt find out intil later. When Brandon and AT were late for practice due to a snowstorm and BB kicked them out.
Despite my love for new england I cant support a team whose QB and coach and owner had a chance to come out against our american nightmare and failed.
Also I have seen Rupert Murdoch in the owners box with Kraft. That was the first real strike. Kraft is dead to me.

(6,916 posts)He's not on our side.
He's good friends with Rupert Murdoch. Kraft is pro-billionaire and anti-average American. That's why he can support Trump with no qualms and also support Murdoch and Obama.
And anyone who can support Trump and Murdoch is not a friend of mine. Or a friend of anyone who's not a billionaire.
Here's the key explanation:
https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2012/02/the-weakening-of-nations-how-tax-work-arounds-undermine-our-society/252779/
It seems that the concept of the nation-state itself is becoming a very pliant one for certain actors in society, be they corporations or the very wealthy.

So, as a fan, a vast majority of the New England fans voted correctly, while the liberals in Pennsylvania failed to carry the vote.
Look, I feel for you. The Eagles have never won a Super Bowl and we're going for our sixth.
But please, don't say that New England is right wing because of our owner. All the NFL owners are right wing. and Brady, he boycotted the White House visit last year. His wife wears the political pants in that family.

(10,926 posts)And suddenly they were a "liberal" team. Because, you know, San Francisco is blue, so the baseball Giants were, naturally, playing in support of all that is good and decent in the world. Whomever they played was, by fiat, Right Wing.
I mean, give me a goddamn break. Boston is as blue as it gets. If you want the Eagles to win, fine. I hope the Patriots win the next five Super Bowls. Am I now right wing?

(1,303 posts)You will have to more than win because you will be playing against a whole team of officials as well as a team of cheaters. I quit watching football this year in the middle of the season when it was blatant what was going on. Anyone that played the Patriots did not stand a chance. I have been a devout fan of football since the fifties and have never seen officiating like what occurred this year. It was disgusting. The call against the Bills was even worse than the call against the Steelers.

As a Patriots fan, I can be honest and say that the Eagles played a good game, without being insulting to the other team or its players.
