What would they care about what "Campaign for Accountability" wants? There has been no movement on any type of ethics investigation, even when called for by fellow house members.

(186 posts)More distractions.
Nothing will come of this.
It's a big lift to charge a sitting President with obstruction and makes us look pretty stupid on the whole Russian collusion thing if this is all they get.
We are being set up for a fail... most likely, and certainly getting distracted from the one thing we have control over: ELECTING DEMS! All our collective energy should be focused on that versus cheer-leading Mueller and Co.. only.
Waiting for more collusion that sticks or obstruction that sticks is listening to white noise..pure feel good stuff that doesn't solve the problem. Winning elections solves all our problems and compounds the GOP's and President Azzclown's.
We should be focusing on nothing more than electing DEMS! all energy to Electing Dems! We get the numbers we can impeach!
We don't then it's our fault for spending more energy on things we don't control.
If we don't elect more Dems it doesn't matter what Mueller figures out..point of fact it won't change a thing, we will still be in the minority party.
Remove the chess pieces in our way instead of commenting on where they are on the board!

(186 posts)I am in Colorado working at the State level Senator Angela Williams and Rep Dan Pabon.
Contact your local Reps headquarters in whatever state you are in and get involved at the local level and they will direct the energy to your state for the national level.
With the Supreme court not hearing the gerrymandering case in Pennsylvania I suggest we find out who's running and post them on this site and help raise money, contribute time to help retake those seats!
We have the power, we have the voice we just need to execute it and not get caught up in the stuff we can't control in IMHO
MelissaB
(16,420 posts)"... makes us look pretty stupid on the whole Russian collusion thing..." Really? The Russians didn't work for and with Trump?
It's fairly obvious... however if we can't prove it then doesn't matter. If we run around screaming it and than don't prove it I think optics wise that's pretty bad for us don't you?
If we can't remove him from office or get him charged with something that does or at the very least shut down the right wing GOP Trumpism agenda than what are we doing here?
None of that is happening without DEMs in charge!

(37,648 posts)So it's not illegal, but possibly unethical? I doubt this results in anything. The Republicans aren't going to do anything about Trump's boy, Nunes, esp for something unethical, I think. If I'm understanding what that letter is. Heck, they won't even remove him from heading the Intel Committee, despite his unethical behavior so far.

(186 posts)We must save this country while we can.
The GOP is out of control and the memo, all the ethics violations (ironic isn't it how the whine about leaks and then do this) and just the general way Trump supporters are reacting is pushing us into a Facist state IMHO.
Elections do have consequences, my God who would have ever thought this is where we would be.

I feel really bad for her.
I cannot even imagine having worked so hard at everything all her life to have to watch this idiot and his GOP cohorts disrespect the office, and punish the country and anyone that doesn't agree with them.
They all took an oath and somehow they forgot that WE all are Americans...they should try acting like Americans versus racist misogynists desperately trying to purge half the country anyway they can.

(1,828 posts)Make sure the Russia, or any other state, never again interfere with our democracy. We will never get democrats elected if a foreign state can manipulate our elections.
We should let the world know we consider it an act of war, doing anything else just emboldens them.

(12,608 posts)ya I agree very interesting.
If they control both houses, you can't impeach. Charging a sitting President with obstruction doesn't remove him or counter his initiatives.
So post about stuff we don't control and focusing on electing Dems seems odd to you?
That's good to know

(1,202 posts)U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions vowed to ramp up criminal investigations into leaks of sensitive information, his first comments on the issue since a series of tweets from President Donald Trump taunting him for being too weak.
"Some people need to go to jail," Sessions said Thursday in an interview with Tucker Carlson of Fox News. "If we can make cases, they are going to jail."
Sessions said he hasnt been happy with previous efforts to prosecute and investigate leaks, adding that the Justice Department during his short tenure so far is already increasing that number. He said he plans to hold a press conference next week on the issue.
"The president has every right to ask the Department of Justice to be more aggressive in that, and we intend to," Sessions said.
