(4,788 posts)and I hope my idiot cousin who just posted a picture of George W. Bush with an adulatory message attached see it. Of course I did comment on his photo that old W still looked like a chimpanzee only not as smart.

(10,303 posts)Liked and liked again. Tracing family history back... yep... a good ol' mix of Angle, Saxon, Norman and possibly Roman too.

(10,303 posts)We're all a mix of something at the end of the day. What is a pure-breed human anyway?
As a beside this (and something my Dad said to me) got me to working on the family tree. Got back to the 16th Century, then things go cold. At least through this I learned the name of my 7th great grandparents - Thomas and Catherine Jane. My family tree line all stayed put in one bit of southern England until I upped sticks and moved here.

(15,245 posts)Family took possesion of a castle returned after East Germany was unified passed it back to the family was a museum under the communist. They had records dating back to 1100 documenting they were originally chicken farmers. Church records showed they had about 30 chickens and 7 hogs . Thankfully they were so poor with too many children they immigrated to America in 1840 partly to avoid being drafted. Funny part they all ended fighting in the American Civil War.
Ultimately they all originated in Africa (not that long ago in the scheme of biological time) even though I am sure some participated in that master race nonsense in the 1930's and 40's.
