(15,401 posts)It's very comfortable if one just wants to be happy living the life of teenager where if you just do your chores and the work that's expected, you get lots of atta-boys and an allowance and can still live comfortably and semi-autonomously at home with Mom and Dad taking care of the big stuff for you.
Growing up, making your way around a huge, impersonal world, and taking responsibility is hard, scary, and fraught with failure.
