What other websites do people read?

Although I'm mostly asking about politics and general news sites, I'm also curious what else people read as I'm starting to get sick of going to the same few websites.

For me, that means DU (obviously), Daily Kos, TPM, HuffPost, the Washington Post, and occasionally Slate and Salon, although I've never really gotten into the last two. I also like to read Laurence Tribe's Twitter page and select NYT columnists (mostly Krugman).

I mostly read the NYT, DU, The Guardian, ThinkProgress, Science Daily, NPR, and my local rags online.

I like to cook, and have a few favorite recipe sites as well.

And I can't do without my daily funnies on Arcamax or GoComics.

It's a quick precis of leading political stories.

During a Presidential campaign, the map on the main page shows projections for the Electoral College, based on polling. Now, the map is of the Senate outcomes in 2012, to convey the lay of the land for this year's Senate races. As nominees are determined and polling begins, the map will change to reflect that information. Meanwhile, a separate page gives a one-paragraph summary of each Senate race.

The map shows the Senate, but each day's stories are all over the political landscape. Most of them aren't about a specific Senate race. The headlines for today (Feb. 7):

• Trump Would Welcome a Government Shutdown
• Kelly Speaks Out on DACA
• California Sues Trump, and Guess Who the Judge Will Be?
• Trump Is Dragging Down California Republican Representatives
• Ohio Approves Referendum That Would End Gerrymandering
• Pot is the New Gay Marriage
• Carter Page Tries to Explain Advising Both Trump and Putin
• Appeals Court Upholds Trump University Settlement
• Trump Wants a Military Parade

DUers were constabtly posting negatine comments about him. B-j was much more balance. All during W's years DU was my homepage. Now b-j is.

Phayngula has politics, science, atheism, etc. Lots about abuse of women in STEM fields, esp how their careers are destroyed by harassment in grad school and labs.

Lots of info about horrors of men's rights movement and the libertarian attack on those they denigrate ss Social Justice Warriors. Much info on creationst attempts to infiltrate schools and colleges.
