OK Democratic Underground: There are two ideas of what we as democrats are to support,

And we haven't even heard from Sen. Sanders yet.

Which is the party line? Schumer's or Pelosi's. I'm afraid to take a stand with my friends until I hear from the DU powers that be.

Are we to support the deal without a promise from Ryan for a vote on the Dreamers or do we go ahead and fund everything for two years without anything in return?

Just asking....maybe Hilary could chime in about now and give us some direction.

"I'm afraid to take a stand with my friends"? What do YOU think should happen?

We have nothing to lose from demanding the vote on immigration that they promised. If the GOP decides they would rather be obstructionists and shut down the government over it, then so be it.

11. The vote comes next week...and by nothing to lose I guess you miss the fact we have midterms in

less than a year. We can help people including DACA by getting some power...without which we can do nothing. The GOP made all sorts of demands and did close down the government, but they didn't get the repeal of the ACA which was their most fervent demand during the Obama years. We will get a vote in the Senate as promised, and if we get 60 votes it goes to the house...at that point, we have no control over it...Nancy helped by bringing attention to DACA with her filibuster...we shall see. Shutting down the government will accomplish nothing and only play into Trump's hands.

As has become painfully obvious the Republicans had no intention of keeping their promise on DACA.

I am even less so this time.

Pelosi is once again standing strong while Schumer buckles to his distinguished colleague.

The idea of deporting people who grew up here horrifies me and if the Dems let it happen it may be my last straw.

Sadly there is not much alternative but if they can't stand up for something 70% + of the public supports what will they stand up for?

This has been a rough year that has shaken my faith in the Democratic party to the core.

I still hold out hope but this one will be a tough one for me to swallow.

9. So if the Dems who are in the minority and have no power can't stop the pugs from deporting DACA

folks whom the GOP endangered by rescinding the Obama program and the GOP congress has refused to address with legislation than, "Than it is the last straw"...really? Give me a break. Those who hold and express such sentiments are the reason we have no power...ah well if you can't see the terrible irony in your post, well there is nothing more to say. Good luck to you because there is no way for Democrats to save DACA. Enjoy whatever new party you intend to join...or perhaps being an independent while loudly proclaiming why you left would suffice...that will help our efforts for sure (sarcasm).

12. Your no power line you keep repeating is nonsense

They can shut the government down and because the republicans burned the reconciliation they can block every single vote in the senate for the next fiscal year.

they have plenty of power and if the Republicans want to pass anything for the next few months they have to have Dem consent. The idea they only have power when in the majority is utter nonsense.

The dynamics in the Senate are different from those in the House. I'd consider that Nancy and Chuck have been "in touch" throughout.

It's on Ryan, now. Not on Nancy. Chuck got a bill out of committee. We are in the minority.

8. We got something in return...not a bad deal. And we won't get DACA shutting down the government.

Trump desperately wants to shut down the government. It won't work. And maybe you could lose the sarcasm. Hillary is a private citizen and does not need to 'chime in ' on anything she doesn't want to. Nancy did a great job and it will put pressure on the House...that is all we can hope for at the moment.

There are only DUers, and each of us is a unique individual.

Here's an idea: Why not tell us what YOU think about this? That would be refreshing. Or are you waiting for someone to tell you what to think?
