jefferson beauregard sessions iii sez aspirin over opioids for pain relief

TAMPA — U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions has drawn jeers for suggesting that people in pain should consider over-the-counter Bufferin instead of opioids.

On Wednesday, Sessions was in Tampa, touting the Trump administration’s efforts to combat drug abuse and trafficking.

This time, he broadened his suggestion to aspirin.

"I am operating on the assumption that this country prescribes too many opioids," Sessions said. "People need to take some aspirin sometimes."

it so that employees are terrified to call off if they are sick or injured, maybe we should start looking at the fact that taking opiates isn't the beginning of the problem, but just needing to function in the joke of a society Sessions and his buddies are creating for people who are not them, not as rich as them.

Not in this instance, I've jumped through every flippin dammed hoop they've put in front of me for 8 years to stay on pain meds.

With a list of 12 diagnoses that allow me to take opiates aspirin will not cut it.

I guess he would rather I can't get them anymore, they are already lowering my daily amounts due to a forthcoming federal guideline that doesn't even exist yet.

After I dropped 1/3 of my meds per day ON MY OWN BECAUSE I WANTED TO TRY.

Yup, I hate the fucker.

but that said, he has a point here in regards to opioids. I recently had a very minor surgery and explicitly told the doctor that I was in recovery and I still was given a script for two weeks of pain pills, which I didn't even fill as I honestly had no real pain. These pills are way over prescribed and that needs to stop. Most other countries don't prescribe opioids after minor surgery. When my dad had his first open heart surgery in the late 1970's he was told to take tylenol.

of alternatives to opioids when treating pain. Research shows that opioids are not appropriate when treating chronic pain (as opposed to acute pain suffered immediately after an injury or an operation). Over time opioids actually increase the body's sensitivity to pain. Doctors are encouraged to help patients reduce the level of pain rather than try to totally eliminate it in the case of chronic pain. Meditation, Estim therapy, ibuprofin and aspirin are indeed recommended in many cases that were formerly automatically treated with addictive opioids.
