Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsThere is a parade in Philly today:
Some are saying that it may be one of the largest if not THE largest assemblage of people in the history of the USA. I am presently downtown and the early crowd dwarfs that for the 1980 Phillies parade and the 2008 Phillies parade which was much larger. People have been flying, driving, and training in for days now. It is staggering. Estimates range from two million to five million potentially attending depending upon who is prognosticating.
Of course, Cheetos inauguration was larger, maybe ten or twenty million but what do I know?

KYW was reporting thousands at the suburban train stations waiting to get on the regional rail to come into the city.
It is cold out there though but the sun is out. I know those folks are freezing but as the crowds build, it will heat it up!

Too cold out there and it is a sheet of ice here after the rain and flash freeze overnight.

(9,265 posts)Because she can't go, there is simply no way to get to Center City now. Many schools (Philly, Catholic schools, some suburban) are closed today. Much as I'm thrilled we finally won a Super Bowl I'm glad I'm not there.

(10,237 posts)This Philly native and life long Eagles rooter celebrates with you, and boy have I ever gotten some good natured ribbing for wearing my Eagles shirt in Patriots country.
That being said, the way that some Eagles fans acted after the game last Sunday was embarrassing.
Have fun in Philadelphia today. The last time the "Iggles" were champs was in 1960, I was just under 5 years old and Ike was in the White House. Hopefully it won't be another 58 years, because I'll be 120 years old...yikes!
PEACE!
