I am going to answer anyways.

The reason is because it is "honoring our fallen heroes," not 'Rump.

While he could fall, it it unlikely that he could become a hero. It is much easier for him to waste treasure. I say treasure because it is more than money he is wasting.

in my local rag yesterday and boy did I get bombarded with angry letters from the usual conservative idiots.

"Don't you know that Memorial Day is supposed to honor FALLEN heroes! And Veterans' Day honors VETERANS!" "This parade is to show off our military pride!" "It's obvious you never served!" And the usual insults as to my lack of intelligence.

I had asked, wouldn't it be better to take that money that the parade would cost, and donate it to VA hospitals?

One idiot countered that with "we should take the money that the parade would cost and honor our military by donating it to anti abortion groups to eliminate Roe v. Wade!" .... I mean, really, you just can't believe the reasoning behind some of these comments.

I don't know why I bother anymore.
