How did the 'Daily Mail' find out about Rob Porter and our media did not???

Daily Mail....
The Daily Mail is a British daily middle-market[2][3] tabloid newspaper owned by the Daily Mail and General Trust[4] and published in London. It is the United Kingdom's second-biggest-selling daily newspaper after The Sun.[5] Its sister paper The Mail on Sunday was launched in 1982 while Scottish and Irish editions of the daily paper were launched in 1947 and 2006 respectively. Jonathan Harmsworth, 4th Viscount Rothermere, a great-grandson of one of the co-founders, is the current chairman and controlling shareholder of the Daily Mail and General Trust, while day-to-day editorial decisions for the newspaper are usually made by a team around the editor, Paul Dacre.

He probably leaked it to the Daily Mail because they guaranteed him above the fold big point headlines and he wants to spread it out. If he keeps leaking to the same outlet then it will be easier to find his finger prints.

I am sure that Bannon leaked it because he knew that it would undermine Kelley and throw him for a loop.

Pretty clever actually.

undermine the influence of Kelly, and other nationalist hardliners like Steve Miller?

It could also be establishment conservatives in congress. Both Ryan and McConnell must be very tired of Miller derailing their attempts to get the government funded.

I'd prefer Bannon just sink like a rock, as someone said for DC, no more social invitations, but of course if wishes were horses he'd have been trampled into jelly a long ago.

Ivanka, who’s been frustrated with Chief of Staff John Kelly, has told her father that he needs people around him that will put his interests above their own. “She wants to clean house,” a Trump friend told me.

The media are both the other real bull in the china shop threatening to destroy our nation AND the fourth estate so important to democracy that it was protected in the constitution.

Whether you want to line "the media" up and execute them or give them medals, the one thing they are not and never were is "impotent."

If I were to go digging, that's where I'd start, and I wouldn't start in London, either. Instead, I'd map all the places where the Daily Mail has stationed reporters along with both US and British embassies and consulates. Then run down reporter histories, deduce contacts, and so on.

US and British diplomatic staves make free use of the "special relationship" that the two countries have both formally and informally shared for seventy-five years, now. It never went away and the nonsense about it being batted around in the British press right now is just fluff.

Less certain in my own mind is the ECHELON-style spying the two nations conduct upon one another to evade each others' illegal search laws. If the British are doing the US three-letters a solid by collecting and developing intelligence on the Trump Admin, for which American law enforcement otherwise needs search warrants, then I think it is possible that the British are actually better informed than the nearly paralyzed US organizations. The Steele memo seems to be a pretty good example of how information can be easily developed from outside of the US.

They don't want to know about men in the White House abusing women. When a story lands on their desk with the wet plop of a fresh cow flop, it's hard to overlook, but they're not going to go looking for stories that are going to imperil their cocktail circuit invites.

.... so terribly outsmarted about the Russia/tr-dump election meddling story and so far behind the eight ball in noticing these events were worthy of intense and thorough investigation.

* Australian ambassador knew about Russian theft of Clinton computer files before American Intel agencies.

* Chris Steele Dossier knew so many tr-dump Russian details before American Intel agencies.

* tr-dump money laundering for the Russians was well known yet he was never prosecuted although he was involved in this illegality for decades.

* The criminal files on tr-dump should have caused so much concern and consternation with prosecuting agencies that it prevented tr-dump's name from getting on a national ballot. How was his vetting such a failure that the public was not properly alerted what a conniving fraud this guy really was ?

* Telephone intercepts were available but no flashing red lights or loud ringing bells were sounded to alert the American Intel apparatus of the coming tr-dump/Russian threat.

Rather than being ahead of the eight ball pertaining to the Russia issues American Intel agencies seem to be playing catch up from behind.

There is an exorbitant amount of money spent yearly of taxpayer funds - you would think the Intel agencies would be ahead of these issues involving national security.
Not playing catch up after the threat has engulfed us.

The idiot "reporter" said the evidence she had was those stupid fan pics he takes with everyone. That was proof he was with the accusors. Yet none of the pics showed what they claimed and celebs like him will have many pics throughout decades.

A lot of"reporters" in the US are lazy fools who are more concerned about their image in a superficial way than in actually reporting on important issues and informing the pubic about them.

the stupid Memo. Day late and a dollar short most of them. This is yet another wake up call to look at all the players in the WH closely...follow the money with Ryan and McConnell, the NRA etc. Other than Rachel, we can't count on any of them to actually do any in-depth reporting...they've all sold out. Here's another thing...look at WHY our SOS would publicly acknowledge the Russians are neck deep in our elections and further state that darn it, there's just not anything we can do about it. He said that out loud for a reason...how about looking into that? Sigh.
