As a male there is no way I could ever know

the revulsion and even fear that thinking women of this country must feel knowing that a person with Rob Porter's known history of abuse was allowed to work within our nations highest office. And even after these public servants found out, there were some who still supported him whom were also working in the highest echelons of our nations government. Until the story and pictures went national and then they were "shocked" etc. And on top of that one has to consider the past record and policies that seem to over and over again target women of our nation by the president. At some point I have to wonder just what kind of country am I living in that allows this with minimal repercussions.

by one of the ex-wives "Still I stayed" that moved her to choked-back tears, and then she cut to Christi Paul who wrote a book on the abusive relationship she escaped, more tears. These women could vividly feel the anguish.

To have this...person...representing us as a part of what used to be our White House is just another abomination we are enduring at the hands of this crew of misogynistic and racist hate-mongers some really horrible assholes thought would be just fine to put in office.

It gets worse every day.

the most egregious insult to the United States, to America and all it stands for, to Americans (other than his supporters) than I can imagine. All of it is defiled and degraded -- and I worry it will never recover. I often feel PERSONALLY defiled / degraded by his presence there.

starting in junior high, senior high and even into my 60s and I am practically a hermit. Seems like every woman I have met over the years has told me of rape and molestation by family members. think what it is like to be betrayed by your immediate family in your childhood and then see what happens in the world of politics, movies, theater, etc. I am surprised any woman wants to leave the house. And now our government and WH occupants are abusers and molesters.

Wow!

Every female I've been emotionally intimate with has shared stories of rape, abuse or molestation (as a child) but only one case by family members. As a guy I get disgusted with my brothers at times. I can't even imagine doing something like this to another human. So totally unnecessary too.

Yikes!

There are lots of things about being a woman I will never know. But I refuse to believe that as a man I cannot be equally repulsed by the thought of anyone being sexually abused or abused in any other way.

The wife has never been sexually abused nor harassed. But she is still revolted by the very idea of abuse.

I am not trying to pick a fight and maybe I misunderstood the meaning of your post.

In my opinion we can all be repulsed by the optics of what we witness or see photos of but as men we do not carry the mental fear of physical violence happening to us whether it be on a date or in ones home. Men, generally speaking, are physically stronger than women and that usually puts the woman at a significant disadvantage as they are aware.
I guess you could try to quantify revulsion by numbers but that does not account for the gut feeling a lot of women have that it could be them, if not now, sometime in the future.
With all the news stories coming out lately hopefully it has raised peoples awareness to the problem. I think we all know this the tip of the iceberg of abusive behavior in this country with 323 million people. It is a continuing problem and should and must be addressed.
